Description

In 1982, Y&T changed their name and embarked on a global expansion. The ultimate master of that classic soundboard has been newly excavated. This work is engraved with the “May 31, 1982 performance in Sittard Geleen”. It is a stereo soundboard recording from their appearance at the traditional music festival “PINKPOP FESTIVAL”, which represents the Netherlands. During the YESTERDAY & TODAY era, they performed live in their home country, but after changing their name to Y&T, they began to show enthusiasm for overseas performances. This work is a superb soundboard that pours such early live performances directly into your brain. Also, 1982 is the time when the “EARTHSHAKER Tour” and “BLACK TIGER Tour” intersect. First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule at that time.・January 1st – April 21st: North America #1 (11 shows)・May 31st: Appearance at PINKPOP ←★This album★・June 4th + 12th: UK #1 (2 shows)・July 3rd – August 6th: North America #2 (5 shows)《BLACK TIGER released in August》・August 12th: Arnhem show・August 18th + 19th: North America #3 (2 shows)・August 29th: Appearance at READING FESTIVAL ←※Official album・September 10th – 11th: North America #4 (2 shows)・September 29th – October 22nd: UK #2 (14 shows)・October 31st – November 11th: North America #5 (4 shows)・November 26th – December 12th: Europe (10 shows)・December 17th – 31st: North America #6 (5 shows)This is Y&T in 1982. Speaking of 1982, the Reading Festival was recorded on the official excavation live album “LIVE ON THE FRIDAY ROCK SHOW”, but that was after the release of “BLACK TIGER”. In contrast, this work was the final edition of the “EARTHSHAKER Tour”. This festival was also a foothold for them to invade Europe. They had performed in France in 1980 and in the UK in 1981, but only once each. However, in 1981, as mentioned above, they began to travel between the United States and Europe in detail, gradually solidifying their foothold. The appearance of this work on “PINKPOP” was also the first step. The highest peak master of the standard sound board announced by a famous recording artist Such a stage is broadcast on TV / radio as it is a famous festival. It has reigned as a standard of early Y & T for a long time. This work is also such a standard FM sound board, but it is the highest peak update board released by “GMan” very recently. If you know Mr. “GMan”, you may have already made up your mind. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many famous and unknown recordists have released a large number of sound sources for fans who can no longer watch concerts, and Mr. GMan is one of them. He is especially popular for his great masterpieces in the 80s HR/HM. We have introduced various masterpieces, including Gary Moore’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984”, MOTLEY CRUE’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK NUREMBERG 1984”, and ACCEPT’s “MONSTERS OF ROCK 1984”. Of course, this work is not a guest record but a sound board, but the famous taper is also a famous recordist. The air check master was recorded with aesthetics, and the supplementary environment is perfect. It has exceeded 40 years and conveys a sound of a different dimension to conventional records to the present day. [Ultra-realistic sound board that updates the highest quality ever] In fact, the sound is the best with “ultra”. It’s a bit too raw to be called “official work style” just because it’s an FM broadcast in the 80’s, but that’s not a bad thing. The guitar, vocals, and rhythm section are all extremely thick and intimate. Even though the core is raging, the subtleties are clear and vivid, and each sound is super realistic and close to you… no, even “in front of you” is lukewarm now. Joey Alvis, Phil Kennemore, Leonard Hayes… even the sense of breathing with the three now deceased people comes stomping into your brain with their feet on the floor. Of course. The closeness was also experienced with the conventional master, but the freshness of this work is tremendous. There is almost no twisting that was present in the conventional version, and the reproduction of the deep bass is perfect even to the subtleties. It is a work of art that further enhances the reputation of Mr. “GMan”. Moreover, this work further brushes up such an ultra-excellent master. Although it was better than before, the parts that had deteriorated partially were complemented with a different master, and the drum solo that had been cut was also fully restored. The pitch, which was about 60% faster than the previous version, and the sound pressure were stabilized, making it the “ultimate version” suitable for permanent preservation. Such a sound depicts a full show where youth explodes. Some of the previous releases were incomplete, but this is the longest complete version. While sorting out the contents of the set, let’s also experience the volume of the number of songs. Earthshaker (6 songs) Hurricane / Dirty Girl / I Believe In You / Knock You Out / Rescue Me / Squeeze Others (4 songs + α) Black Tiger: Don’t Wanna Lose / Black Tiger Others: Earthshaker / Rock ‘n’ Roll Medley (★: Blue Suede Shoes / Roll Over Beethoven / Whole Lotta Shakin’ / Jailhouse Rock / Hound Dog) *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that could not be heard on the short broadcast. …And so it is. The style is centered around “EARTHSHAKER” and sprinkled with new songs from “BLACK TIGER” which had not yet been released. Recently, Y&T has also started to reissue rare classics, but at the time, “Don’t Wanna Lose”, “Knock You Out”, “Earthshaker”, etc., which were only played a handful of times, can also be enjoyed on the extra thick sound board (this repertoire cannot be heard on the official album “LIVE ON THE FRIDAY ROCK SHOW”). Even if you say “sound board” in one bite, its personality is various. Rather than being an “official substitute”, this work is a type that transcends official works with a powerful and super direct feeling. It is perfect for enjoying the fierce and hot early Y&T. This is a piece that updates the highest peak of such an extra thick sound board. Stereo sound board recording of the “May 31, 1982 PINKPOP FESTIVAL” performance. The latest full master version released by “GMan” has a thick and tight sound with guitar, vocals and rhythm section. The core is raging, but the subtleties are clear and vivid, and each sound is ultra-realistic and climbs into your brain. Furthermore, we have polished it with our own meticulous mastering, complemented some of the deteriorated parts with a separate master, and fully restored the drum solo that was cut. The pitch and sound pressure have also been stabilized, making this the ultimate early Y&T album. Burgemeester Damen Sportpark, Geleen, Netherlands 31st May 1982 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE) (56:13) 1.
