Description
This work, which is the fifth in the excavation live series, is a recording of the astonishing live stage performance that took place for over three hours at the jazz hall of fame “Keystone Corner” in San Francisco in 1980 from the broadcast sound source. It will be a set of sheets. Mulgrew Miller participates on the piano, and the swinging piano and Woody Shaw’s trumpet create an outstanding brilliance that will give you goosebumps. The masterpieces “Solar” and “Portrait of a Mountain” included on Disc 2 are performed by a piano trio without a tube. Also participating is Steve Toure, a veteran trombonist known for his collaborations with Roland Kirk, and you can listen to his funky solos to your heart’s content. His passionate trumpet playing feels like it’s breathing fire, and even when I listen to it now, it still sounds fresh and makes me shiver.
