Description

WISHBONE ASH when Marvin Spence, also known as O’RYAN, was a member of the famous singer known only to those in the know. A new masterpiece live album that conveys a visionary era with a rare twin lead and a beautiful voice is newly discovered. What is inscribed in this work is “December 17, 1984 Stuttgart performance”. This is the best audience recording. First of all, the schedule at that time… There is extremely little information about WISHBONE ASH at this time. In fact, it seems that there were few live performances, but in 1984, only a few performances in France and West Germany were known, and the existence of the Stuttgart performance of this work was also unknown. This is an “unexplored era” in which much further research is expected. In any case, this work is a valuable storyteller who teaches us about such an unknown era. Originally, it would be a rare thing to be able to hear, but the sound of this work blows away that preciousness. It was made into a CD directly from the newly discovered Omoto cassette, but anyway, I was surprised by the closeness, clarity, and freshness of the master. There’s a sense of space in the sound of the snare and the elongation of the guitar, so it’s hard to mistake it for a soundboard, but I can’t help but want to declare it wrong. This sense of distance is true…For example, if the sound board feels like there is a band in your brain, this work is in the front row in front of the PA…or rather, it feels like you are performing together on stage. Although I can feel the presence of a vibrating atmosphere, there are other members within my line of sight. It’s that kind of closeness. Moreover, it is extremely clear. Even though it is extremely close, if it does not break even at the peak, there is no dubbing deterioration. If the twin connections are clear, the bass drum, which tends to be sparse, kicks the five organs and shakes the six organs in the vibe dimension. It probably didn’t come out for trade because it was at a time when it wasn’t attracting much attention, but that’s why the super beautiful sound that it was able to maintain continues to flow out without stagnation. What is depicted with such direct beautiful sound is a truly unexplored stage. WISHBONE ASH is known as a band with quite a lot of live albums, but there were none during the Marvin era. Many people may be hearing this for the first time in this work. The contents are… 70’s / Pilgrimage: Jail Bait / Hundred-Eyed Giant Argus: The King Will Come / Blowin’ Free / Eternal Anxiety: Don’t Come Back / Others: Bad Weather Blues 80’s / JUST TESTING: Living Proof・NUMBER THE BRAVE: Underground・TWIN BARRELS BURNING: Streets Of Shame/No More Lonely Nights・RAW TO THE BONE: Cell Of Fame/Perfect Timing/Long Live The Night/Love Is Blue/Don’t Cry/ People In Motion…and it looks like this. Speaking of live performances from the Laurie Wisefield era, the official album “LIVE DATES 2” is known as the final album, but this work includes the following three works “NUMBER THE BRAVE”, “TWIN BARRELS BURNING” and “RAW TO THE BONE”. It also covers everything, and the preciousness of its repertoire is dizzying. Some people may have barely heard “Underground” at a live show in recent years, but others may not have heard it. In particular, “Perfect Timing” and “Long Live The Night” are extremely rare, making you wonder, “Have you ever played them live before the existence of recordings?” Also, “Bad Weather Blues” was written during the “LOCKED IN” era and is not included in the album, but it is a song that was often played at encores from the mid-70s to the 80s. And Marvin’s vocals are even more vivid than the rare songs! Even in his later PHENOMENA and solo works, he was said to be very Glenn Hughes-like, and his pleasantly growing singing voice is controlled, crisp, and expressive. In terms of skill, individuality, and expressiveness, they are a two-piece billboard that rivals the twin guitars. Speaking of WISHBONE ASH, some people may have felt that their vocalization, although tasty, is a “wall” compared to URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE, FREE, etc. If Marvin had joined the group 10 years earlier, history might have been different…his wonderful vocals stir up such delusions. Furthermore, Marvin’s bass is also amazing. The attack is rock-solid, just like John Wetton, and the lines he spins are full of song. The superb sound of this work allows you to thoroughly enjoy its subtleties. WISHBONE ASH from the Marvin Spence era has been erased by the waves of history. However, at the scene, a wonderful stage unlike any other was unfolding. This work is a sonic evidence that conveys the scene with the best sound with “super”. The brilliance of British rock has never lost its brilliance, even though it has been at the mercy of the times. A live album that tells the story of the era of famous singer O’RYAN, aka Marvin Spence. This is a superb audience recording of “December 17, 1984 Stuttgart Performance”. The sound that was made into a CD from the newly discovered Omoto cassette is the best with a “super” rating. The sense of closeness that makes you feel like you’re performing together on stage, the freshness that only Omoto can provide, and the crystal clear clarity. If the twin connection is clear, the bass drum will also kick up the five organs and shake the six organs in the vibe dimension. The show will play plenty of extremely rare songs such as “NUMBER THE BRAVE”, “TWIN BARRELS BURNING” and “RAW TO THE BONE”, and you can experience the intense show with Marvin’s vocals.
