Description
WHITESNAKE has been reborn in the 21st century with Doug Aldrich. Here is a superb live album that tells the story of their first visit to Japan. This work includes the “September 27, 2003 Zepp Osaka performance”. This is the best full audience recording. It was a revival six years after the farewell tour in 1997, but it was also the “25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR” commemorating the 25th anniversary of the band’s formation. First, let’s look back at the show’s positions from the dates at that time. September 18th: Okaya City Cultural Center Kanora Hall September 19th: Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater September 21st: Tokyo International Forum September 23rd: Zepp Sapporo September 24th: Zepp Sendai September 25th: Zepp Tokyo September 27th: Zepp Osaka [This work] September 28th: Zepp Fukuoka A total of eight performances. At the time, there was no new release, and no reunion with famous members, but the tour traversed the archipelago from Hokkaido to Kyushu. It was a tour that showed enduring popularity. The Osaka performance of this work was the seventh concert, which was the final performance. This work, which recorded such a scene, is a superb audience recording without exaggeration. The recording was made by a master who made a series of famous recordings in Osaka from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, and our shop has made a series of original collections by this recording artist. He has made a series of masterpieces such as RAINBOW, HUGHES TURNER PROJECT, Yngwie Malmsteen, and BON JOVI. WHITESNAKE’s masterpieces “BUDOKAN 1997: DAVID’S BIRTHDAY PARTY” and “HIROSHIMA 1997”, as well as John Sykes’ “OSAKA 1998” and “OSAKA 2004” are also works by this person. This work is the latest in such a collection of masters, and one of the best. In fact, the clarity of this work is overwhelming. Although the drums have an audience-like feel, the vocals and guitar are on and the details are clear. Doug and Reb Beach layer phrases, and even when they play flashy together, the nuances of each note are clearly understood. Of course, Coverdale’s vocals are also excellent. Even when a powerful shout roars, he doesn’t get scared, and his delicate whispers and breaths are beautifully captured. What’s even more impressive is the audience noise. It also absorbs the mood of the scene, which is surprised and delighted by the return after six years, but there are no strange voices or screams nearby. Although a swell of cheers wriggles with each voice of Coverdale, the spectacle is also far away and does not come between the powerful performance sound. Although the recording position is not transmitted, the beauty of modern digital recordings from more than 15 years ago is comparable to that of modern digital recordings. And the show depicted by that sound is also wonderful. With each passing year, Coverdale’s voice changed, and even in the official live performance “LIVE… IN THE SHADOW OF THE BLUES” three years after this work, some fans felt uncomfortable with the voice quality. However, this work is still the first visit to Japan shortly after the restart. The tension is powerful and the growth is wonderful. Of course, the beautiful voice that sings deeply with emotion is still alive and well, and nothing has changed since the golden age before the revival. The singing voice is startling in “Soldier Of Fortune”. Before the highlight “Still Of The Night”, he sings a cappella for about a minute and a half, but the deep emotion is exactly the singing voice of the soul. You can experience the famous songs and famous singing that you couldn’t hear even in “LIVE… IN THE SHADOW OF THE BLUES” with the best sound of 100% on-site feeling. White snake revived in the 21st century with the hard rock of the golden age. This is a masterpiece live album that contains the full show, from the pre-show “Burn” to the end announcement (it’s funny that the venue staff was waiting for the end of “We Wish You Well” because they were impatient or the time was running out). This is the original and Japanese version of “LIVE… IN THE SHADOW OF THE BLUES”, and it’s a masterpiece that will let you hear even more beautiful voices.
