Description
Wayne Shorter, who served as musical director for the Miles Davis Band and led the jazz/fusion scene of the 70s and 80s in his double band with Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, performed a seven-piece show at Town Hall in New York on December 1, 1995. This recording is almost full length, spanning 1 hour and 27 minutes, from a good audience master released by a taper in recent years. While around this time he was primarily a quartet with Jim Baird and Alphonso Johnson, here he has expanded to a larger group with the addition of two keyboardists and percussionists, and Shorter’s saxophone playing is reminiscent of his beloved Coltrane.
