Description

At the time of their debut, W.A.S.P. caused shockwaves as a “heavy Alice Cooper” and “dirty KISS.” The best live set is now available. Live shows at the time were horror shows where naked women would be tortured to death, blood would be drunk, and fresh blood would literally drip. This work is a collection of two performances of such shock rock extremes. This is a 2-disc set that mainly includes the best audience recording of the “September 25, 1984 Nottingham performance” and the official pro shot “LIVE AT THE LYCEUM, LONDON” of the “September 24 London performance” the day before! What kind of positions are these two shows in? First, let’s check the schedule at that time. ●1984 [“W.A.S.P.” released on August 17th]・September 18th-October 13th: Europe (19 performances)←★Here★・October 18th-23rd: First visit to Japan (5 performances)・November 9th: London performance November 24th – December 28th: North America #1 (22 performances) January 9th – March 29th, 1985: North America #2 (58 performances) July 3rd Sun-5th: North America #3 (3 performances) [“THE LAST COMMAND” released on November 9th] This is the shocking debut work “W.A.S.P.”! flow from. The tour suddenly started in the UK, and this work is the 6th and 7th performance. Speaking of 1984, the legendary first performance in Japan was also shocking, but this work is also just before that. Now, let’s introduce each disc individually. [Main CD: The best audience recording of the Nottingham performance] The first thing that appears is the audience recording of the “September 24, 1984 Nottingham performance”. As I will explain later, the other disc is an official pro shot, but aside from that, the audience recording is the main part of this work. Because this is a super-excellent miracle recording. In fact, this disc was recorded by the master craftsman “Crazy S.” It is a live album that was digitized directly from the original cassette. And that sound is shocking. It’s definitely an audience recording because it was given to me by the recording person himself, but I was surprised to find out, “Where on earth is this?!” A very thick core like a rough rope was thrust in front of me, and the distance was completely zero. Rather than the atmosphere being transparent, no matter how you listen to it, it’s completely close-contact, making it seem like it’s only an FM broadcast. Moreover, the sense of stability is amazing. It’s a very powerful sound that doesn’t sound like it’s going to explode, and both the guitar and bass are clear. “On Your Knees” and “Animal (Fuck Like a Beast)” erupt with a pyro-like “boom!” sound (watch the volume!), and “L.O.V.E. Machine” has the roar of an electric saw. But even that is beautiful. The violent noise is beautifully captured in every detail. No matter how hard I listen to it, no matter how many times I repeat it, it’s hard to believe that I’m really in the audience, and the questions “!?” keep spinning around in my head. The show drawn with that sound is also intense! As mentioned above, it was right after the release of his debut album “W.A.S.P.”, but he played all the songs except “B.A.D.”, and ended with “Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)” from the legendary debut EP. set list. The melody is extremely catchy while the violent riffs and wild roars are roaring. “Yakuza pop rock and roll” unfolds one after another. That shocking album is hit with a live performance that burns with the desire to conquer the UK, and it hits you with a super direct sound of the highest quality. Normally I would write “a live performance version of that masterpiece,” but this one is not that easy. It’s more of an enhanced version than another version of a masterpiece. It’s also an incredibly powerful live album, as if a Super Saiyan who poured Viagra into a Yunker performs with a 10x Kaioken sword. [DVD: Official video reprinted in the highest quality ever] Following such a superb edition is a DVD that reprints the out-of-print official video “LIVE AT THE LYCEUM, LONDON” in the highest quality ever. Using mint-quality Japanese laser discs, we outsourced the digitization to an overseas manufacturer specializing in analog video. We have taken every possible precaution regarding the source, process, and environment, and this is truly the highest quality DVD in history, which cannot be better than this. To commemorate the discovery of the Nottingham miracle recording the next day, we have included a special DVD. The contents of the official video are full pro shots of the “September 24, 1984 London Performance”. Nottingham’s live album was also amazing, but the power of the video is amazing. After all, Blackie Lawless wears knee-high tiger-striped boots, her butt is exposed, and she has circular saws on her arms and crotch. Then, while shaking his hair like a mountain horse, he goes wild with Chris Holmes, who also has his butt exposed. Of course, it’s not just the strange appearance. During “Tormentor,” Blackie brought out an ax and raw meat in the middle of the performance and started eating it on the spot (it’s real…), but then he cut it into pieces and threw it at the audience, and then he cut it into pieces and threw it. Furthermore, when you open the box next to the stage, there is a naked woman hanging inside (this is not a doll either…). You can see a truly grotesque and disgusting show in which he tortures the woman to death with a knife and then returns to the performance. The following song, “School Daze,” is also wonderfully bad. After the guitar solo, he cuts up a poster with a circular saw and drinks plenty of blood from his skull. The amount was easily three times that of Gene Simmons, and it overflowed from his mouth, staining half of Blackie’s body bright red. Even after that, he sings with the appearance of a demon with his face covered in blood! sing! It’s a “dirty KISS” and a “heavy Alice Cooper,” including a feather pillow. W.A.S.P. was a maverick who stood out among the flashy and wild LA metal bands. This is a 2-disc set that includes the most sensational live performance in the UK immediately after their debut, with an extremely powerful recording and the highest official video ever. This is truly a monumental shock rock masterpiece. It’s great because it’s in bad taste and so gross that any sensible person would frown upon it.
