Description
“LIVE AID” is the biggest event of the 20th century…no, the biggest event in the history of human music. The best pro shot that vividly revives that day that colored the summer of 1985 has been decided to be released. This work is the third installment in which you can re-experience SANTANA, when the sky was turning white, to the reunion of LED ZEPPELIN, which was the highlight. We have introduced many professional shots of “LIVE AID” so far, but this work is different. This event was broadcast live all over the world, but this work is the Japanese broadcast version. This work is the third installment. However, it is not a complete broadcast. The main broadcast was a long one, lasting about 16 hours, but this work is a selection of only “Western music” from that time. CMs inserted directly into the show, chatting with talent in the station’s studio, Japanese musicians on stage, etc. are eliminated as much as possible (although you can see some members of the Heisei Board of Education). The scene where I thought at the time, “Okay, let’s show a live performance with outside sauce!” has been removed, and now we can look back on that hot day with only delicious scenes. The biggest point of this work is the reality of “July 13, 1985”, and the quality of depicting it is also superb. At our store, we have archived a number of music programs with the super best masters provided by domestic record enthusiasts, and this work is also the latest. Since then, this maniac has pursued high-end equipment and environment, and is a real man who pays close attention to the state of preservation of his masters. Its quality has been proven in many masterpiece programs, but this work is one of the special ones. Currently, recording masters of “LIVE AID” have been reported from all over the world, but the quality of this work is outstanding. Despite the era when there is no digital broadcasting, it is a visual beauty that even comes close to the official DVD. [The third part of the morning, which also featured the reunion of LED ZEPPELIN] Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get down to business. This is already too wonderful. This work is the third of a total of four works, and contains 14 groups, the most in this series. Individually, I think many people choose their favorite band/musician. Let’s briefly summarize the contents of this work. ★4:21/SANTANA (with Pat Metheny)○4:50/Elton John★5:27/Madonna○5:48/Freddie Mercury & Brian May○5:51/Paul McCartney○5:57 /BAND AID ★7:06/Neil Young★7:42/THE POWER STATION ★6:30/Kenny Loggins★8:21/THOMPSON TWINS ★23:47/REO SPEEDWAGON ★8:38/Eric Clapton★ 9:00/Phil Collins★9:10/LED ZEPPELIN *Note: “○” is Wembley Stadium in the UK, “★” is JFK Stadium in the US. The numbers are the start times (Japan time). …and it looks like this. As you know, “LIVE AID” is held simultaneously at two locations: “Wembley Stadium in the UK” and “JFK Stadium in the US”, and the event is broadcast live while being mixed up. The times listed above are the start timings of each band/artist converted to Japan time. As you can see, this third installment is recorded from after 4 o’clock, when the night was about to end, to around 9 o’clock in the morning. The main thing here is the highlights of Wembley Stadium in England. It carefully broadcasts everything from Freddie Mercury and Brian May to Paul McCartney and the final performance of BAND AID. After that, it will focus on JFK Stadium in the US, but Kenny Loggins and REO SPEEDWAGON, which could not be broadcast during the UK highlight time, will be inserted. In addition to such British highlights, this work also includes many songs that cannot be seen on the official DVD. Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” and “Can I Get a Witness,” George Michael’s amazing “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” and Madonna’s “Love Makes the World Go Round.” The places are delicious, but SANTANA and THE POWER STATION are precious because they are cut whole. And above all, the reunion LED ZEPPELIN! That feeling of holding your breath, the shock of being overwhelmed (in many ways) by the performance, and the feeling of despair when the broadcast failed during the intro to “Stairway to Heaven”…it was exactly like July 1985. Because it’s a Japanese broadcast, you can feel the real-time feeling ★ Neil Young’s stage performance is also a highlight. Being in the middle of the country route, the large stage with the backing band International Harvesters at the time was perfect for LIVE AID. Unlike the CSN&Y stage at night, his performances during the day are very well-received, and his performances are truly heart-warming. However, in the Japanese broadcast version, there was a problem where the last two songs, “Powderfinger” and the unreleased song “Nothing Is Perfect” were not broadcast. Looking back on it now, I was very dissatisfied with the broadcast, but in Japan at the time Neil Young had a strong image of a person from the past, and I was rather satisfied with the broadcast of the famous song “Helpless” played and sung. I’m sure there were many fans who did. And the simultaneous translation in this work is amazing. As expected, it was the female interpreter who showed off her professional skills, and in Pette Midler’s introduction, she brilliantly ignored the sarcasm about the star Madonna, “Why do I have to introduce this girl?” She naturally speaks words such as “Virgin” that men would hesitate to use. In addition, Madonna herself delivers a refreshing and moving MC without hesitation. Let’s transcribe it a bit. “Let me take this opportunity to thank you all. As you all know, today’s concert is full of stars performing. But the important thing, I think, is that you It’s not about who you are, it’s about why you’re here. I’m so glad you’re all here. Can you all hear me? Who’s here after 33 years? A wonderful MC that pierces my heart, even though I was always focused on who was co-starring with whom. She didn’t wait for Madonna to finish saying that, and she didn’t even say “ah” or “um”. A clumsy male interpreter makes us realize the true power of female interpreters. Moreover, he did it with ZEP, which is getting a lot of attention. Phil Collins says in English, “Let me introduce you to my friends. Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones Tony Thomson!” The translation that overlaps with the words is “These are the members of the band. Robert Powers and John Thompson.”… Hey hey. hey hey. A destructive force that erases even the will to rush in and ask, “Who is that?” To be honest, at the time I was so excited to witness the moment of the century that I missed it, but those who noticed it must have been disappointed. “If you don’t know anything, just shut up!” is the only way to say it. Another key feature of this work is the zapping feeling of Wembley Stadium in the UK and JFK Stadium in the US. The sun is already setting in the UK, but it’s still bright in the US. I feel the time difference every time I move from venue to venue, and the feeling of being interrupted by Phil Collins flying in on the Concorde is also real. More specifically, the dawn had finally dawned in Japan when this work was being broadcast. I’m sure many people were succumbing to sleep at that time, but both in their memories and on screen, the feeling that “the earth is round” oozes out because it was the biggest event of the century. “LIVE AID” is once again attracting attention due to the QUEEN movie “Bohemian Rhapsody.” However, even without the movie, it would still have been the biggest event of the 20th century. No, the 1980s was the era when popular music was at its peak in human history. In other words, “LIVE AID” was the largest music festival in human history. A masterpiece that allows you to experience the events of the century in real time. Wembley Stadium, London, UK / JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, USA 13th July 1985 (124:25) Santana 1. Primera Invasion 2.
