Description
The legendary festival “POP GALA” was realized in the Netherlands in 1973. The best video that conveys the situation has been decided to be released. This festival was held in Voorburg on March 9th and 10th, 1973, and featured bands and artists such as THE EAGLES, Rod Stewart & THE FACES, and Ry Cooder. This work is a multi-camera pro shot featuring live footage of 9 of them (+THE WHO). When you think of legendary festivals from the 1970s, you may think of vintage documentary footage, but this work is completely different. Actually, it was broadcast on the Peruvian digital broadcasting station “CULTURA24” in 2009. The visual beauty is extremely vivid, with the stage set decorated with electric decorations, the glittering costumes, the drums returning home and the microphone stand reflecting the lights. Of course, if the highlights were enhanced digitally, the details would be crushed and look dirty, but that is not the case with this work. The natural beauty is due to the broadcasting of the broadcast station master that has maintained its original appearance without any deterioration. This is a video work that dazzlingly depicts the true nature of rock, which was at the cutting edge during the era of dramatic changes in the 1970s. With such quality, the performance is a total of 10 groups and 28 songs. There are weights and weights depending on the band/artist, some artists only have one song, and some bands can enjoy a full show. Here, we will introduce three categories based on their balance. [First half of the program: 6 groups broadcasting 1-2 songs each] (SLADE / Colin Blunstone / ARGENT / COUNTRY GAZETTE / Rory Gallagher / Shy Coltrane) The 3 groups that appear at the beginning of the program have 2 songs each. It was broadcast on. The three groups are SLADE, Colin Blunstone, and ARGENT. This festival is 4 months after the release of SLADE’s masterpiece “SLAYED?”, and 4 months after Colin Blunstone’s release of “ENNISMORE”. ARGENT was the same month that “IN DEEP” was released. Blunstone, who also sings THE ZOMBIES’ “Time Of The Season,” and ARGENT, in which Russ Ballard performs the famous song “God Gave Rock And Roll To You,” are wonderful, but SLADE has the greatest impact. Noddy Holder in a top hat with a mirror pasted on it, Jim Lee in dazzling red glitter, and Dave Hill looking almost like an alien, all very flashy. The image quality of this work is so good that you can even feel that it was made for them. Then, towards the middle of the program, three groups of artists performed one song in a row, as if to quickly show the breadth of the festival’s rich variety. The three groups are COUNTRY GAZETTE from the “DON’T GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB” era, Rory Gallagher who just released the masterpiece “BLUEPRINT”, and Shy Coltrane from the “LET IT RIDE” era. The genre is very colorful, including bluegrass, blues rock, and female voice pop. You can feel the breadth of the 1970s, when the music scene itself was mellow. [Second half of the program: 3 important artists with plenty of volume] (Ry Cooder / THE EAGLES / Rod Stewart & THE FACES) In the second half of the program, the big names that will be the highlight will appear one after another. As befits the status, the number of songs being broadcast will also increase. The first big name to appear is Ry Cooder. He appeared about four months after the release of “BOOMER’S STORY”, and this work also includes four songs. However, the selection is not “BOOMER’S STORY”, but also “Tattler” and “Jesus On The Mainline” included in the next work “PARADISE AND LUNCH”. Next up is THE EAGLES, who appeared just in time for the release of “DESPERADO”. They are the band with the largest volume of this work, and not only do they include all eight songs that were broadcast, but after the program ends they also include three unaired songs, “Out Of Control” and “Keep On Tryin’.” ” and “Early Bird” are also included as a bonus. The bonus part is a leaked master in the middle of editing that also includes a time counter, so the image quality is down a notch, but it is still beautiful enough. You can enjoy all 11 songs played on the day with multi-camera professional shots. Rod Stewart & THE FACES from the “OOH LA LA” era are as gorgeous as THE EAGLES. Although it is short, with only three songs “Memphis Tennessee,” “True Blue,” and “Cindy Incedentally,” Rod’s presence in a rainbow-colored lame suit is tremendous. She struts around the stage in that form and sings famous songs with that sexy singing voice. You can witness the literally shining appearance of “This is a star!” in the highest quality. [Bonus 1972 THE WHO] “POP GALA” ends with the members of THE FACES singing in the shower room, but the program will be broadcast with one bonus professional shot afterwards. “My Generation” was taken at the “August 1972 Amsterdam performance”. Like the main story, this is also a super high-quality digital broadcast by “CULTURA24”. Although it is only one song, you can enjoy the raging performance of THE WHO, who was in the midst of their single “Join Together” becoming a huge hit. Spring of 1973, when the heroes of rock history were in a golden age. This is a video work that allows you to enjoy the passionate performances of these bands/artists for 2 hours and 14 minutes in ultra-high digital quality. What a mellow era the 1970s were. This is a piece of cultural heritage that speaks more eloquently than a million words. Live at Sporthal de Vliegermolen, Voorburg, The Netherlands 10th March 1973 PRO-SHOT Slade 1. Cuz I Love You 2.
