Description

Blues is the roots music that was the basis of rock and roll and the catalyst for the rise of British rock. A superb video work that allows you to see the heroes who colored history in multi-camera professional shots has been decided to be released. This work includes the British BBC special program “BLUES AT THE BBC” that was broadcast in 2009. This is a DVD version of the master digitally recorded by overseas core enthusiasts. Its quality is truly impregnable. Completely official quality as it is a digital recording of the world’s BBC master without any deterioration. There are many famous videos, and you can fully enjoy them with the highest visual beauty ever. This is the most important content, but this is very typical of the BBC. There are no comments from the host, and the only explanation is the caption. The performance scenes from 1965 to 1992 continue for about an hour, making it look like a musical piece. It is not uncommon for such programs to have one song cut out, but in this work, each song is carefully shown in its entirety. It’s also interesting to see how the “British perspective” shines through in the selection and composition of the band/musicians. A total of 16 groups will appear, but the balance is 50/50 between black bluesmen and white booths, and the performances are arranged in chronological order by year of performance. It is a style that looks at the impact of being exposed to the blues and the white people who took up musical instruments as a result of that impact, in historical order. That’s why blacks and whites get mixed up, but let’s separate them here. ●Black bluesmen, pre-war group: Son House (1970), post-war group: John Lee Hooker (1964), Champion Jack Dupree (1965), T-Bone Walker (1965), modern School: Freddie King (1975), B.B. King (1989), Buddy Guy (1991) Gospel: Pop Staples (1992) White Blues UK: KINKS (1964), PRETTY THINGS (’66), Long John Baldry (’68), PETER GREEN’S FLEETWOOD MAC (’69), STONE THE CROWS & MAGGIE BELL (’71), Tony McPhee (’73), Eric Clapton (’77) ) ・USA: DELANEY & BONNIE AND FRIENDS (1969) *Note: Year of performance is in parentheses. …and it looks like this. It’s surprising that Buddy Guy is the only Chicago player, but the point is that he has a wide range of abilities. Son House, where you can hear the original Delta blues (this is a late color video), T-Bone who introduced the electric guitar, Dupree who introduced the blues to Europe from an early stage, B.B. King who brought about the guitar revolution that continued into rock, and a reappraisal of the modern era. Staples, a gospel musician who was two sides of the same coin with Buddy and Bruce, who symbolized the scene… Although this is not an exhaustive list as it is from a British perspective, it vividly conveys that there are many different styles of “blues”. White Blues, on the other hand, has a much more British tone…or should I say, only British people appear (Delaney & Bonnie, the only American band, was probably chosen because of Clapton’s connections). Of course, that’s not a bad thing. Not only big names like KINKS, Peter Green, and Clapton, but also STONE THE CROWS & MAGGIE BELL and Tony McPhee (GROUNDHOGS) will appear. You can really feel how the blues has penetrated deep into the British scene and has become its flesh and blood. Speaking of my greed, I would have liked to have seen footage of Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson II, the Stones, etc., but this area was probably too standard and was not selected. Blues drove Britain in the 1960s and 1970s, and by extension shaped the world music scene itself. This work itself is a blues work that you can completely immerse yourself in, but at the same time, the “backbone” of British rock is also revealed. This is a special program with super-excellent multi-camera professional shots. Live Compilations from 1964 to 1992 PRO-SHOT AMAZING QUALITY 1. John Lee Hooker – Boom Boom (1964) 2.
