The legendary “MONSTERS OF ROCK TOUR 1988” brought together the heroes of 80’s HR/HM. A new excavated live album is now available that allows you to experience the best of the two leading groups. This work was recorded at “July 16, 1988 San Francisco Performance”. This is a 3-disc set that couples the headliner VAN HALEN with the semi-contestant SCORPIONS. It was the 24th concert out of the 28 performances of “MONSTERS OF ROCK TOUR 1988”, and this work recorded at such a show is a really clear and wonderful new masterpiece. This is a new excavated sound source released by the prestigious excavation company “Krw_co”, and it is a masterpiece that was digitized directly from the original master. The sound is just fresh and has a strong, direct feeling that touches your heart. There is a sense of space in the sound of the snare, but it is not far away, and the vocals and guitar come closer. The reason for this is probably the venue. Candlestick Park, where the event took place, is a huge stadium that can hold over 60,000 people, but it is not a dome but an open space with a wide ceiling. Therefore, there are no walls or ceilings to reflect sound, and the sound output from the PA is directly picked up with zero echo. However, it seems that it was not close to the PA and it does not have the close feeling of a sound board, but it also creates a spectacle that makes it boil. What was especially amazing was the loud cheers. The range of live voices of 60,000 people was enormous, and the call and response and inciting reactions were also huge. It’s simply a huge crowd, yet each and every one of them is on fire. In particular, the sense of scale of the headliner VAN HALEN edition is so great that it makes you think it’s a “US festival” or “LIVE AID”, and it tells you more eloquently than a thousand words how huge a movement HR/HM was in the 80’s. is. And the performance that weaves such a set is the highlight. In one word, “the height of dignity.” KINGDOM COME, DOKKEN, and the next champion METALLICA also participated in this tour, but these two groups are still strong. The melody is pop, the beat is powerful, and the rhythm is catchy, right in the middle of hard rock, making the crowd sing.
