Description
Eddie Van Halen is a great man who left a huge mark on the guitar world… no, rock history. A soundboard album that permanently preserves the last stage of his life is now available. What is engraved in this work is “October 4, 2015 Los Angeles performance”. This is the ALD soundboard recording. Some people may not be familiar with the term “ALD sound board”, but let’s start with the show position. VAN HALEN’s last activity was a reunion with David Lee Roth, but that was also an era that lasted nine years. Of course, the most memorable moment for us is the performance in Japan, which became part of our posthumous work “TOKYO DOME LIVE IN CONCERT”, but let’s take a look back at our activities, including that. February 2nd, 2007: Dave・Announcement of Lee Roth’s return》 ・September 27th – December 30th: North America #1 (40 performances) 2008 ・January 22nd – February 20th: North America #2 (15 performances) ・April 17th Sunday – July 3rd: North America #3 (22 performances) 2012《4 years later》《“A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH” released》 January 5th – June 26th: North America #4 (53 performances) 2013 April 20th: Sydney performance June 18th-26th: Japan (4 performances) July 20th + 24th: North America #5 (2 performances) 2015 (2 years later) July 5th Sunday – October 4th: North America #6 (41 performances) ←★Here★ This is the last nine years of VAN HALEN. The performance in Japan was part of a world tour accompanying “A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH”, but a tour was also held in 2015 after a two-year break. The Los Angeles performance that was Chiakiraku was Eddie’s last stage. That last show was miraculously left on the ALD soundboard. ALD (Assistive Listening Device) is a line audio system that is used to clearly convey sounds that are difficult to hear during live performances, lecture speeches, etc. They are especially installed at concert venues for people with hearing impairments, and in venues with such equipment, soundboard audio can be recorded through earphones. The Hollywood Bowl, where this film was filmed, is also a venue with such ALD equipment. Literally, it was recorded with zero distance and completely close soundboard audio. This work is a masterpiece with a 120% synchronization rate that can be integrated with Eddie’s guitar. Originally, the ALS sound board was intended to be listened to on-site, and there was no intention of recreating the sense of reality or the atmosphere of a concert (which is natural since it is actually happening at the venue), but simply to listen to live music. The core also flows out completely. The sense of zero space goes beyond close contact, and the instrument and brain are completely synchronized, the drums feel like skin bouncing off the skin, and the vocals are ultra-realistic, right down to the flow of exhaled air passing through the microphone’s weave. Of course, the vibrating strings of guitars and basses come to mind, and you get an immersive feeling as if your head itself has become a PA player. Moreover, this work is the highest peak of that. This ALD sound source shocked the world with the news of Eddie’s death, but its sound for on-site use was similar to IEMs, and was not suitable for home audio. Therefore, this work has been brushed up with careful mastering. It has corrected the balance that had been caused by the narrow range and poor flow, and achieved both an exhilarating feeling and dynamism. This is a live album that maintains the direct connection of the original sound to the maximum extent possible, while also pursuing the listenability as a musical work. What is depicted with such a super unified sound is a full show that is filled with emotion. After all, this is the last live performance performed by a rare genius from beginning to end… To be honest, the series of once-in-a-lifetime notes is neither rare nor clumsy, but its weight is historic. Keep your sets organized for record-keeping purposes as well.・Flame Fuse: Runnin’ With The Devil/Feel Your Love Tonight (★)/Ice Cream Man/Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love/You Really Got Me ・Legendary Bomber: Light Up The Sky (★)/ Somebody Get Me A Doctor/Dance The Night Away/Beautiful Girls/Women In Love・Dark Law: Romeo Delight/Everybody Wants Some!!・Martial Law: “Dirty Movies” (★)/Unchained・Diver Down: Little Guitars ( ★) ・1984: Drop Dead Legs (★) / I’ll Wait / Hot For Teacher / Panama / Jump A Different Kind of Truth: She’s The Woman *: “★” indicates the official live album ” Songs that cannot be heard on “TOKYO DOME LIVE IN CONCERT”. …and it looks like this. I’m curious about the repertoire that can’t be heard at “TOKYO DOME LIVE IN CONCERT” because there is no other remarkable long soundboard on the last tour, but more than that, each song, each phrase, each note. is a memorial and monument. It is a live album whose weight is directly woven in your brain. This is a full show filled with a sense of freedom and accomplishment that can only be expected from a Chishu Raku tour, and ends with Eddie shouting “Thank you, very much!!” from the chorus microphone. Because it is an ALD sound board that is close to you but far away from loud cheers, you can feel even the smallest voice in your ears. The final song “Thank you” brings out all the emotions of the 42 years since their debut. I hope that this work, which will never lose its luster, will be engraved in your heart and that you will send the same words to your eternal hero.
