In 1979, from the North American tour accompanying the second album, a 2-CD set containing a complete high-quality audience recording of the Vancouver performance on June 30th, Canada, is now available. Remastered recording of surprising high-quality takes that have suddenly appeared in recent years. This is a much-talked-about new sound source that has been highly praised online as “the best master of the 1979 tour, comparable to the Fresno performance on March 25th”. The sound of the opening Light Up The Sky is a little far away at the beginning, but the microphone captures the performance perfectly around the second minute, and from then on, it is a very excellent song that can be declared to be the best audience recording of this period. High-quality sound is recorded until the end. The sound image is very close and clear, and you can enjoy Van Halen’s intense live performance at his best with a large scale natural sound from high to low range. The sense of separation of the overall sound is also top class, and you can clearly hear the detailed performance of each instrument, and the excellent sound does not have the feeling of being forced. You’ll be very surprised as you listen to it, wondering if there were any fresh, excellent masters left! Recorded in the audience seats in 1979, it is amazing how bright and clear the sound is, and the natural and spacious sound resonance and localization are top-class, and it was recorded using a very good microphone. It’s definitely a great sound. All minute noises and tape deterioration caused by the original sound have been repaired naturally, so you can listen to it from beginning to end without stress. The D.O.A. that was played at the Fresno performance has been dropped in a few days, and Jamie’s Cryin’ is being played instead.
