Description
The first soundboard rush of the “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour” has been stirring collectors worldwide. This work permanently preserves the “September 11, 1982 Inglewood Performance.” It’s a superb stereo soundboard recording from the legendary venue, “The Forum.” This soundboard series is on a different level in both quality and quantity. Normally, even one tour would be enough…or even one every decade would be enough, and a barrage of super-duper soundboards would be a ferocious succession. This collection has also entered a new stage since the “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD” introduced the day before. To explain the significance of this and to organize the collection, let’s approach this work’s position by, as always, outlining the activities at the time. 1982 (“DIVER DOWN” released on April 14th) July 14th – August 21st: North America #1 (26 performances) ← ※ CLEVELAND 1982 etc. September 1st – 25th: North America #2 (17 performances) ← ★ Here ★ October 7th – December 11th: North America #3 (38 performances) ← TORONTO 1982 etc. 1983 January 16th – February 12th: South America (15 performances) May 29th: US Festival Appearance This is VAN HALEN from 1982/1983. Their only South American tour and professional shots such as the “US Festival” are also famous, but they were in 1983, spanning the new year. In contrast, all of this new excavation rush was the 1982 US tour. There have been quite a few, so let’s list them here. “North America # 1” SBD Collection ・ July 24th “BILOXI 1982” ・ July 30th “LOUISVILLE 1982” ・ July 31st “FORT WAYNE 1982” ・ August 3rd “ROCKFORD 1982” ・ August 6th “ST. LOUIS 1982” ・ August 10th “ST. PAUL 1982” ・ August 13th “DETROIT 1982 1ST NIGHT” ・ August 21st “CLEVELAND 1982” “North America # 2” SBD Collection ・ September 7th “PHOENIX 1982” * September 11th: Inglewood performance ←★ This work ★ “North America # 3” SBD Collection ・ October 22nd “WORCESTER 1982 1ST NIGHT” ・ October 24th “WORCESTER 1982 3RD NIGHT” on October 26th, and “TORONTO 1982” on October 19th. Up until now, the albums have been limited to “North America #1” and “North America #3,” but the recent “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD” has led to the previously unexplored “North America #2.” This is the second installment. “The Forum” was a three-night series, with this being the final day. It’s also the day after the hit audience classic “L.A. FORUM 1982 2ND NIGHT MASTER TAPES.” Recorded at this show, this is a delicious new masterpiece with a wide feel. Like the previous soundboard series, it’s directly connected to a high-end mixer, delivering both a thick, unprocessed feel and a sense of synchronization that perfectly matches the live performance. Furthermore, this album offers a wide stereo range. For example, while the stereo feel of the recent “PHOENIX 1982 SOUNDBOARD” and “CLEVELAND 1982 SOUNDBOARD” could be described as “the centered band’s sound spreading left and right,” this album feels like “the ensemble itself is spreading left and right.” In addition to this wide dynamic, the performance itself is also in top form. After all, “The Forum” is a venue iconic to their hometown of Los Angeles. The consecutive performances there are a perfect balance of spirit and confidence, showcasing a performance that exudes power, momentum, and even dignity like a sumo wrestler’s sumo wrestling match. The “HIDE YOUR SHEEP Tour” continues to unearth unprecedented soundboard discoveries in VAN HALEN history—and indeed, in rock record history. This is a vivid, wide-ranging new masterpiece. While audience recordings of recent tours are often performed alongside VAN HALEN’s golden age tour, this soundboard recording allows you to experience the tour alongside VAN HALEN’s golden age tour. A luxurious soundboard tour that collectors will likely never experience again. This is a superb stereo soundboard recording of the “September 11, 1982 Inglewood Performance.” Like the previous New Excavation series, this is a direct-to-mix system with a superb level of mixing, and the extremely thick, unprocessed feel and the sense of synchronization that perfectly matches the live performance are tremendous. Furthermore, this work’s wide stereo feel is truly dynamic. It’s a pleasure board that will pour a full show of the best into your brain.
