Description

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, URIAH HEEP continues to be the king of British fantasy HR. The original recording of the Japanese performance, which was realized for the first time in three years, is now available. This work includes “March 19, 2018: Osaka Performance”. This is a superb audience recording that completely records two stages a day. Even so, HEEP in recent years is amazing. Not only LED ZEPPELIN, but also BLACK SABBATH, who were active at the same time, were no longer there, and DEEP PURPLE was touring with the words “THE LONG GOODBYE”, which was conscious of its demise. However, HEEP released their masterpiece “LIVING THE DREAM”, which is full of active work, and energetically toured the world. Not only does he have an endless desire to create, but his pace is also overwhelming. First of all, let’s explore the show’s position from their recent situation. ●2018《“LIVING THE DREAM” released on August 29th》・September 22nd: Faroe Islands・October 23rd-December 16th: Europe #1 (42 performances)●2019・January 22nd- February 24th: Europe #2 (25 performances) March 19th-21st: Japan (6 performances) ←★Here★ April 20th: Performance at KANAALROCK FESTIVAL ・May 3rd-June 29th: North America (36 performances) / July 11th – August 3rd: Europe #3 (6 performances) / August 31st + October 26th + December 8th: Europe #4 (3 performances) This is what we have so far The schedule after the release of “LIVING THE DREAM” has been announced. They are playing shows like they were in their heyday, mainly in Europe, but in fact, this is only a part of it. Last year, even before the release of “LIVING THE DREAM”, they toured European festivals in the summer, and also conducted a full-fledged North American tour. In 2018 alone, they performed more than 100 live shows, and their performance makes you wonder, “When did they make a new album?” It’s like a band in their 20s (DEEP PURPLE and YES, who have not released a new album, are in their 50s) If you consider that it was only a performance, you can understand how energetic he was.) And it’s not just the number of times. Each performance is extremely energetic. This work is also a live album that shows the actual situation in Japan performances. The Japanese performance will be held in Osaka and Tokyo for 1 day x 2 stages x 3 days. This work includes the entire two performances in Osaka. And, the sound is so exquisite that you want to line up two or three “super”. This is the work of “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”, a master among the masters who is well known at our store, and of course is an original recording only for this work. This is also so intense that I can only call it “like a soundboard.” Although you can feel the feeling of a closed room in a small club, there is nothing else that feels like an audience. If there is no sense of distance between the guitar and keyboard, the vocals and chorus are also at a breathing level. In particular, the drums are so realistic that you can even feel the vibe of the popping leather. That is the super direct sound that makes you feel as if you are sitting in the rehearsal room. The show drawn with such a transcendental sound is powerful and unparalleled. We will perform two short stages of approximately one hour, but more than half of the sets will be replaced. Let’s organize the contents here. [Common to both stages] – Old songs: Rainbow Demon, Gypsy, Look At Yourself, Easy Livin’ – New songs: Grazed By Heaven [1st STAGE (disc 1) only] – Old songs: Return To Fantasy, Lady In Black – New songs: Take Away My Soul, Waters Flowin’, Rocks In The Road [2nd STAGE (disc 2) only] Old songs: Too Scared To Run, Stealin’, July Morning, Sunrise New songs: Living The Dream, Knocking At My Door… …and it looks like this. Only the special song and “Grazed By Heaven” are repeated, but most of the new songs are divided into two times, and both of the classics are super delicious. In the end, they couldn’t miss both performances, and it seems that many people watched both performances on the same day. And the performance that spells out such a set is amazing. He is very good at live performances, and not only the 62-year-old Bernie Shaw but also the 71-year-old Mick Box are really youthful. Moreover, perhaps because each stage is short, you can run through it all at once without losing your intense concentration for even a moment. That is no different from the live shows 20 or 30 years ago. Furthermore, Russell Gilbrook is even better than before. It has been 12 years since he joined the band, and his powerful and vocal drumming reminiscent of Cozy Powell is overwhelming. It has a sharp sound like the pounding of a drum, a bass drum that sounds like a heavy tank, and phrasing that perfectly enhances the dramaticism, making it truly cozy. Of course, he is not a Cozy impersonator, so his hand movements are different, but this style is ideal for the fantasy style of HR. Perhaps the current state with Russell is the strongest URIAH HEEP in history. Last year’s DEEP PURPLE was also great, but URIAH HEEP’s active performance is not comparable. Unfading singing voice and performance, classic songs that have become even brighter, new songs that are as unique as the classics…this is the embodiment of the classic British HR that rivals RAINBOW in 1995. I can’t help but envy the audience that day for being able to see such an amazing show on a club scale. A live album that allows you to experience the scene with the finest sound.
