Description

The “UK” reunion tour with the trio of Wetton, Jobson, and Bozzio from the “NIGHT AFTER NIGHT” period, which became the biggest topic in the progressive rock world of the 2010s, will be held from May 1st to May 21st, with a total of 15 performances in North America. After that, from May 24th to May 30th, the four-piece band, consisting of Alex Makasek on guitar and Gary Husband on drums, performed 5 shows in London and Europe, and in June they moved many fans to tears. Japan tour was held. This 6-disc set is a complete recording of the first three performances of the 2012 reorganized North American tour in Chicago on May 1st, Foxborough on May 2nd, and New York on May 4th with ultra-high quality audience recordings. is. The sound quality of all three performances is excellent, as is typical of modern digital recording, and the set titles have also been moderately remastered, resulting in very high quality set titles. The trio’s reunion live, which was realized for the first time in 33 years, is historically very important, and can be said to be a must-have collection of sound sources not only for Wetton fans but all progressive rock fans. In terms of sound quality, Foxboro and New York are quite good, and compared to these two performances, the Chicago performance recording sounds like a normal high-quality recording, but even that Chicago performance can actually be released as a two-disc set. This is a 6-disc set that I am grateful for, and I am grateful for each taper that recorded this precious live with such excellent sound. As you can hear in Jobson’s MC (after Fallen Angel) at the premiere in Chicago, the trio met up the day before and only had one day of rehearsal (the audience seemed surprised), so the performance itself was quite rough. Although it was wild, I think it can be said that it was truly amazing to be able to perform a nearly 2-hour live performance with such a complex piece of music in just one day of rehearsal. Especially on the first day, the performance in Chicago was filled with a special atmosphere as it was the first official live performance of the reorganization, and it is a must-see for fans. With a moderate sense of realism, the sound conveys the excitement and tension of sharing a special time. Fallen Angel, played after Jobson’s MC talking about his memories of King Crimson, is moving. Although it is a session style performance, the enthusiastic mood of the audience overlaps, and you can enjoy a very good performance. Next up was the Foxboro performance, the second performance of the tour. The sound quality is by far the best and is easy to listen to, but unfortunately there are many problems with the keyboard, and as a result of this, there are parts where the ensemble becomes even more chaotic. will be done. Therefore, there is no keyboard solo time for Jobson only on this day, and only the violin solo is performed. Chicago is a wonderful take on the feel of a historical live show that seems to be the first performance, but it is a shame that the content on this day was lackluster overall. The final performance was on the third day in New York. This is also recorded in a very high level of superb sound quality, which is clear and punchy, as is typical of modern digital recording. The overall sound balance is also very good, and the drum sound is especially wonderful, so this sound source may be the best for enjoying Bozzio’s sharp and exciting drums. There’s no way the band’s ensemble will improve dramatically in one day, but since the New York performance is the most important show for the band, all the members were excited to hear an emotional live performance full of positive feelings. Let me do it. Bozzio’s drum solo was amazing, the solo was 8 minutes on the first day, 9 minutes on the second day, but this time he performed a long drum solo of 13 minutes. The performance was clearly better than the Foxboro performance, and there is no doubt that fans will be excited to listen to Bozzio’s many plays as he hits as hard as he wants without hesitation during the song! What can be said throughout all the performances is that John Wetton’s vocals are stable on this tour, and the entire performance is very powerful. I can feel how good I am at this time of year. The problem is that Terry Bozzio doesn’t remember the songs, so there are many parts where the ensemble gets messed up, but the individual playing of all three members is wonderful and shows no signs of decline. The response is excellent. A must-have 6-disc title for fans that completely records the first three performances of a historically important, true UK reunion live tour with perfect sound.
