Description

From the 1975 tour accompanying the release of UFO’s “FORCE IT,” a live studio performance recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California on October 6th is now available as a super high quality stereo soundboard recording. UFO made a big leap with “PHENOMINAN” featuring Michael Schenker, and established a very large presence in Europe. In the following 1975 “FORCE IT,” Chick Churchill was added as a guest keyboardist on the album, and former Heavy Metal Kids member Danny Peyronel was added as an official keyboardist on the tour, in an attempt to transform the sound, and the results were obtained in the form of the first full-scale advance to the United States on the tour of the same year. The US tour started with a show at the Record Plant on September 23rd (same as October 6th), and as far as the band’s records can be confirmed, a total of 37 shows were held until November 19th, laying the foundation for the later hits “LIGHTS OUT” and “STRANGER IN THE NIGHT.” The performance at the Record Plant on October 6th, recorded on this recording, was recorded without an audience for broadcast on a radio program on October 14th, and is not included in the band’s tour schedule. However, the performance, which combines the tension of the tour with a moderately relaxed play, was outstanding even during the US tour, and it is great news for fans that they can enjoy this excellent performance at their leisure with the best master ever to appear. The remastering effect on the original material is also clearly apparent, and core fans will surely be amazed by the clear and smart sound image that explodes from “Let It Roll” and “Doctor Doctor”, which is different from the previous releases. The high-quality mix and separation of the performance, which is said to be a soundboard sound source, are also wonderful, and it is possible to hear not only Michael’s guitar and Phil Mogg’s vocals, but also every note of Andy Parker’s drums in detail. Danny Peyronel’s keyboard, separated on the right channel, also stands out clearly, and the quality that seems possible to be officially released as it is is overwhelming! The contrast between the light playing of “Oh My” and “Out In The Street” and the deep listening of “Built For Comfort” and “Mother Mary” is reproduced more clearly and vividly in the sound of this recording, and the powerful performance that unfolds before your eyes is exquisite. “All Or Nothing”, known as a hit song by SMALL FACES, was one of the cover songs that UFO was good at at the time, and the recording of the “Studio Track” was included as a bonus track on “NO HEAVY PETTING”. It is gratifying that the selection of songs unique to this period has been preserved in such a great form as this work. The energetic playing of “Rock Bottom”, which decorates the last part of the main story, is the highlight, and even if you are not a fan, you will be drawn to this. Michael’s solo, which conforms to the studio take, is also wonderful. The last song, “C’mon Everybody,” was an encore performance at the Record Plant on the first day of the tour, and was not included in the recording of the same day (“1st September 1975” was during the European tour, so this is an error for September 23) included in the “OFFICIAL BOOTLEG BOX SET.” Since this day was a show with an audience, the atmosphere is slightly different from the main October 6th, but the sound quality is as stable as the main version, so you can enjoy the play unique to this time without feeling any discomfort even if you listen to it continuously. The highest sound quality take that was leaked this time had a large DAT tape noise in the latter half of the song “C’mon Everybody” (5:15 in this take), but there is no such problem with this take, and there is also the advantage that you can enjoy it without any stress from start to finish. Even so, the performance is too amazing. How wonderful it is to be able to listen to it with such a perfect stereo line recording. There are many stereo line recordings of famous performances in the world, but there are not many masters that are so attractive, and it can be said that it is a piece of a lifetime. It is no exaggeration to say that the breakthrough of later UFO and Michael Schenker was triggered by this US tour. The masterpieces played by these young band members with great ambition all have an unknown brilliance! This is the definitive version of UFO’s 1975 live performance. Don’t miss this must-listen for fans, we highly recommend it! Live at Record Plant, Sausalito, California, USA 6th October 1975 STEREO SBD(Perfect Quality) 1. Let It Roll 2. Doctor Doctor 3. Oh My 4.
