Description
From the second Japan tour in 1979, all 3 days of the tour, including 2 days of performances at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo and performances at Osaka Welfare Pension Hall, are recorded from completely unreleased master cassette tapes that have never been distributed among traders. A completely recorded 3-disc title that will shock fans of deep British rock is now available. Each disc contains approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. All three performances were recorded by the same person, so the sound quality is consistent, making this a must-have item for fans. The limiter seems to be working, and the bass distortion was severe on the first day’s performance, but the microphone used is very advanced, and you can see that the high and mid range is actually very clear. On the second day in Tokyo, the sound has the same tendency, but the distortion of the bass has been eased, and it is recorded with a sound that is quite easy to listen to. The natural fullness and sense of separation of the sound is excellent, without any clutter over the two days. Particularly due to the characteristics of the limiter, parts with a small number of sounds are recorded at the same level as line recording. Phil’s singing voice, Pete’s bass with a strong presence, and Paul Chapman’s guitar play that makes you feel the high ability are all recorded very clearly, and it is a wonderful recording that fans will listen to again and again. The sharp and dramatic performance with slow and fast movements is the best, and it can be said to be a great performance and recording that directly lets you feel the charm of British rock. The Osaka performance on the final day had the clearest sound quality and clearest sound image, making it easy to listen to. Bass distortion is also minimal. (However, I feel that the appeal of analog-like, large-scale sounds is something that is difficult to abandon even on the second day in Tokyo.) There is a previously released version of the Osaka performance, but of course it is a different master. Cherry is sung with the word Osaka inserted into the lyrics. The guitar playing of Paul Chapman, who replaced Michael Schenker, has a strong presence, and the sound is excellent from beginning to end, and every song is worth listening to, as is the solid band ensemble that gives you a sharp groove. Full marks. A 3-disc set of completely new sound source titles that are sure to amaze UFO fans around the world. It can be said to be the definitive version of the 1979 Japan live.
