The band made a name for themselves with their eccentric makeup, impactful characters, and fun video clips, and this release includes a complete recording of their club gig in New York on May 24, 1980, before their major debut, in master quality and soundboard quality from the broadcast source. While several songs from this live performance were included on a half-official compilation album after their major debut, this one was recorded in its entirety from the source that was aired live on the radio at the time, and because it was mastered for airplay and had a perfectly separated stereo soundboard, it was at a level that could be released officially as is. The band’s energetic performance and the excitement in the venue were so real that they released “I’ll Never Grow Up Now” the previous year and “Bad Boys (Of Rock & Roll)” in 1980 as self-produced songs, and while the main songs were from those two albums, the raging R&R medley from the middle was just amazing, reminiscent of the first time they performed in Japan, where most of the songs were played as a medley.
