Description

TOTO toured the world in 2015 with their first studio album in nine years, “XIV.” The masterpiece original recording is now available. This work includes “Norje performance on June 4, 2015”. This is an audience recording from a performance at Europe’s famous festival “SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL”. The tour took place four years ago from now, but this work was kept secret by the recording artist himself. This is an original recording of this work that is not available anywhere on the internet. Before we look at the quality, we should first consider the show’s position. Let’s look back at the dates when we first came up with a new work after a long time. [“XIV” released on March 24th]・May 21st – July 19th: Europe (41 performances)←★Here★・August 5th – September 14th: North America (30 performances)・November 12th英:BALOISE SESSION appearance November 20th + 21st: Mexico (2 performances) December 11th-13th: Los Angeles (5 performances) This is TOTO in 2015. The tour began soon after the release of “XIV”. Steve Lukather was also in charge of RINGO STARR & HIS ALL STARR BAND this year, and in between, he toured around Europe and North America. The SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL performance of this work is the beginning. This was the 11th concert of the “Europe” leg. This work, which records such a show, is a secret recording that should not be made public. The best thing about it is its strong core. Judging from the lively breathing of the audience, there seems to be a distance, but the important performance sound is so close to your eyes that you have no sense of distance. The details are also unusually clear, as if the blue skies of Scandinavia, which are neither cloudy nor cloudy, come to mind. The key to that clarity is probably the venue. SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL is an outdoor festival with a special venue set up in an open space, so there are no walls or ceilings to bounce the sound. For that reason, the PA output sound with zero echo is directly picked up, and it is recorded extremely clearly. Of course, outdoor recordings do not necessarily result in great recordings. It is not uncommon for the sound to be carried away by the wind, or to become a mess due to the intense excitement of the audience. However, this work is different. In the few songs immediately after the performance, you can feel the influence of the wind (very slightly), but it quickly stabilizes. After that, Mion continues, forgetting that it is an audience recording. And the excitement of the audience. It seems that they are far away from the stage, so even though there are people talking around them (although they are a little too relaxed around “Hold the Line”: bitter smile), there is no loud noise that disturbs the performance. Although there are loud applause between songs, even that feels distant and vast. Again, I’m sorry to make a guess, but it was probably right next to the PA tower, away from the stage. The surrounding audience was relaxed rather than loud, and the performance was very close. Although it is not a good position to watch the show, you can feel the realism of the special seats in the recording. “TOTO XIV TOUR” drawn with such quality is truly amazing. Of course, we will play plenty of famous songs from the past, but the taste is different from the officially announced 35th anniversary “LIVE IN POLAND” and 40th anniversary “40 TOURS AROUND THE SUN”. Rather than focusing on one album, the album is filled with masterpieces from his debut to “XIV”. Among them, the songs that have been revived for the first time in a while will add spice. “Stranger in Town” and “The Road Goes On”, which are being played on the current 40th anniversary tour, which is full of rare songs, will be revived for the first time in more than a decade. Other albums include Jimi Hendrix’s cover “Little Wing,” his first in 10 years, “Never Enough,” his first in 22 years, and “Without Your Love,” his first in 25 years. Of course, three new songs from “XIV” are also featured, “Running Out of Time,” “Orphan,” and “Great Expectations,” and the freshness unique to the new tour is delicious. The early part of the tour is full of enthusiasm, with the release of a new original work for the first time in a while. This is a masterpiece live album that captures the scene with the delicious direct sound of the outdoors. An original recording made exclusively for this work by a Scandinavian master.
