Description

TOTO in 1982 was at the peak of their career with the Grammy Award-winning phenomenon album “IV”. This super-excellent live album is now available on 2 CDs. This work includes the “Reggio Neremilia performance on September 13, 1982”. It is an audience recording of TOTO’s first performance in Italy. In fact, this show has been known for a long time and has represented the peak of their career with such high quality that it is even traded as a sound board in some places. This work is also a traditional recording, but it is not a copy or a remaster. It is the ultimate quality version that was digitized directly from the master tape itself, which was excavated very recently. Although the sound is important, let’s first check the position of the show. Let’s check it out in the schedule of 1982, when the whole world was in hand. “TOTO IV” released on April 8th: May 7-21: Japan (10 performances), May 28: Los Angeles performance, June 26: Oakland performance, July 10-29: North America #1 (8 performances), August 16-26: North America #2 (5 performances), September 11-October 4: Europe (15 performances) ←★Here★ This is the whole picture of “TOTO IV WORLD TOUR”. The tour is largely divided into the second visit to Japan, North America, and Europe, and the Reggio Neremilia performance of this work is the “European” leg, which is the final stage of the tour. It was the second concert. This work is of the highest quality, and you want to line up several “super”. Although the vivid feeling of the scene is definitely an audience recording, the core’s thickness and closeness are tremendous, and even if you listen carefully with headphones, you don’t feel the presence of space. Along with that, the details are vivid itself. It’s a great recording with a zero-distance feeling that makes you understand why it was distributed as a sound board. Moreover, this is the story of the conventional version. This work has been upgraded to an overwhelming extent with the ultimate gene of the original master. The originally intense sound board feeling has also been improved, but what’s even more tremendous is the sound. Although it was a vivid and close sound board, it was strangely sparse, perhaps because the bass was spoiled after dubbing. However, this work is extremely thick even to the bass, and it is very gorgeous. In fact, the excavation master itself had a tendency to be too thick in the midrange, but this was corrected with meticulous mastering, and the noise that remained in “Hold the Line” was also corrected. If we follow the story that the previous release was thought to be a sound board, this work, which has the entire range left crisp and balanced, can even be said to be at the “official level” (it has a real on-site feel, so it can be said to be an official bootleg class). Although it cannot be changed that there is a tape change cut at the end of “99”, it is a superb live album with the fresh sound of the original master from beginning to end. Such a miraculous quality depicts a golden show that is currently receiving the wind of the peak. While the smash hit “IV” is the axis, it is also selected evenly from the three previous albums. Of course, it is not just the greatest hits, but also famous songs unique to that time such as “Gift With a Golden Gun” and “Good for You” are performed, and the show is closed with “Runaway” which is not included in the album. While it is a dazzling treasure trove of masterpieces, it is also dazzling that it is currently active and pioneering the times (after “Gift With a Golden Gun”, MC says “This is the first Italian gig”). The performance itself makes such a sense of the times even stronger. As a group of craftsmen, they always give us an ironclad show, but this work is in the midst of a great success. For example, the single “Africa” was released in Europe, but it was still in the midst of North America. In other words, everything they do is successful, and there is still a mood of not being out of breath. The three Porcaro brothers are all together, and the momentum of confidence and success that is as it should be overflows from the speakers. 1982 was the peak of the glorious history. This is a miraculous live album that can be set up at the scene with superb sound. Even the master of the fallen generation seems to be a sound board, and the original master. It is a cultural heritage class that even approaches “TOTO IV” itself.
