Description

This is the magnificent live performance by the Polish treasure Stanko, performed in his hometown with the same all-star lineup as the masterpiece album “From the Green Hill” on ECM!!! Tomasz Stanko, a great Polish musician who is active beyond the realm of a mere trumpeter, pursues music with a progressive attitude without any compromise based on his own pride. His fifth album from ECM, “From the Green Hill,” released in 1999, features John Surman from Leeds, Dino Salusi on bandoneon, Michel Makarski on violin, Anders Jormin on bass, and Jon Christensen on drums. This album is particularly popular and highly regarded as a masterpiece due to the luxury of the participating members among Stanko’s many works and the high quality that represents ECM works. However, with such a large number of members, it is naturally difficult to coordinate everyone’s schedules, but a live performance with this lineup was miraculously realized at the Jazz Fair held in Stanko’s native Poland on May 16, 2000. This work is a miraculous item that records this miraculous night on a superb high-quality stereo sound board that has been carefully mastered by the label!
