Description

The first US tour of the Tom Robinson Band, which gained popularity among early punk bands for its political message, included live recordings from the prestigious Old Waldorf in San Francisco in 1978. TRB, led by Tom, who switched from folk to punk in 1977, made a spectacular debut on EMI with this masterpiece 1st EP, “2-4-6-8 Motorway/I Shall Be Released.” In 1978, when the EP Rising Free, which included the famous song “Glad to Be Gay”, was released, it is the live sound source of the band at its highest voltage. It has been carefully remastered without sacrificing the sense of realism. At the time, “Glad to Be Gay” was banned from the BBC. Tom Robinson, who confessed that he is gay, is now an active BBC DJ. TRB was invited by the Hi-Lows to come to Japan in 1996, and is scheduled to perform in Japan in September 2020. This is the best band that sings of anger against all kinds of discrimination and prejudice. Recorded Live at Old Waldorf, San Francisco, CA, June 11, 1978 1. Don’t Take No For An Answer 2.
