Description

TOBIAS SAMMET’S AVANTASIA demonstrated the ideal form of metal opera during their recent performance in Japan. Introducing a superb video that vividly brings back memories of a wonderful show. This work includes “May 4, 2019 Moscow Performance”. They are currently on their first world tour in three years. First, let’s check the show’s position within the schedule. [“MOONGLOW” released on February 15th]・March 27th – May 6th: Europe #1 (25 performances) ←★Here★・May 9th: Japan “MOONGLOW IN TOKYO 2019”・May 12th +14th: Australia (2 performances), May 17th-June 2nd: North America/South America (8 performances), July 12th +13th: Europe #2 (2 performances), August 10th-23rd: Europe #3 (5 performances) This is the 2019 schedule announced so far. I’ve been touring the world, including Australia and South America, but of course my main destination is continental Europe. The Russian performance of this work was the 24th performance of “Europe #1”, and it was the most recent concert, just 5 days before the Japan performance. This work, which records such a show, is a truly spectacular audience shot. Best of all is the wide field of view. The photo was taken from a seat on the first floor, slightly to the right of the stage, looking directly at the stage beyond the waves of raised arms. The height itself can be imagined as if you were holding up a smartphone, but the image quality and camera work are on a different level from smartphone photography. It selects the highlights from a wide field of view and zooms in close to them, and even when Tobias runs around, it closely follows Tobias, with almost no camera shake. The raised Kobushi is also reflected to some extent, so it can’t be said that only the stage occupies the field of view, but it’s just that it can’t be said strictly. In fact, in most of the scenes, the audience’s hands are not even visible, but rather here! In the scene where the fists are pumping up, it makes you feel even more elated. And the sound that matches the scene is also wonderful. As expected, it is not as good as the super masterpiece “MOONGLOW IN TOKYO 2019” performed in Japan, but the core that reaches straight is strong and clear enough that you can hear every word of the lyrics. You can clearly understand even the subtleties of the singing voices of the metal heroes that appear one after another. What is depicted with such visual beauty is the best metal opera of all time and the strongest of modern times. The set is the same as “MOONGLOW IN TOKYO 2019” as it is just before coming to Japan, but the scenery is extremely convincing. The screen images that change as the song progresses are simply beautiful, and the vocalists who represent the modern metal scene sing along to it. Starring Tobias Samet (EDGUY), Ronnie Atkins (PRETTY MAIDS), Jørn Lande (ex-MASTERPLAN), Eric Martin (MR.BIG), Geoff Tate (ex-QUEENSRYCHE), Bob Catley (MAGNUM), Harvey. Langhans (SINBREED), Adrian Cowan (SEVEN SPIRES), Oliver Hartman (AT VANCE)…the mood on set that boils over each time they appear is very realistic. I enjoyed their silly singing voices in “MOONGLOW IN TOKYO 2019”, but the performance that transformed the dramaticism of the song into movement was also amazing. The main actors, Tobias and Geoff Tate, are eye-catching. Their expressions as they sing are filled with emotion, and the intense tempo and pantomime-like actions double the persuasive power of the song. Jeff’s appearance has become a completely different person from the 1980s, but his singing voice and the persuasiveness of his performance remain the same. More Adrian. She surprised us with her superhuman vocals that range from delicate feminine voices to growls, but her sinister beauty is also outstanding. In addition to being in charge of the chorus for most of the songs, he also has a great presence as he is featured on “Book of Shallows” and “Moonglow.” In this work, you can watch each of the heroes’ expressions and movements in the highest quality. Truly the best metal opera of all time. However, the gorgeous and luxurious feast can only be witnessed on video. This film is a video work that brings you the best part of the experience from the perspective of a special seat. Not only is it perfect for remembering that wonderful performance in Japan, but this work itself is a masterpiece that teaches us about the ultimate modern metal show.
