THIN LIZZY, led by John Sykes, came back to Japan in 1994 to commemorate Phil Lynott. The legendary leaked soundboard album has been updated and is now available. At our store, we have previously introduced the famous leaked sound board “HEALING PRAYERS”, but this work is different from that. From this tour, there are two soundboard sound sources leaked by the people involved, and this work is one of them. This sound board made a huge impact in the 90’s. After all, the quality is extraordinary. Even the “completely official grade” is no longer lukewarm, and the taste of the food directly from the table is also transcendent. The thick, muscular sound of the performance sinks into your brain, and even if you take out just one drum, the tom roll pans out with a tremendous stereo effect, and even the slightest cymbal crash is vivid. As for the guitars, not only are the twin harmonies beautiful, but Sykes’ unique harmonics that come in from every end are frighteningly sharp. Of course, these are just examples, and the same goes for vocals, bass, and keyboards. Everything is vivid. That transcendence was felt at Nakano Sunplaza SBD “HEALING PRAYERS”, but this one at Shinjuku SBD has an even higher degree of perfection. The Nakano Sunplaza SBD was a type that had only the core exposed, or rather, it had only the core, but this work was a line recording with effects added to it, and there was a (slight) loud cheer. When you enter, you can feel the spectacle. If I were to compare it visually, Nakano’s “HEALING PRAYERS” feels like there’s a band in my head, and Shinjuku SBD feels like my head is a stage. It’s a matter of preference rather than superiority or inferiority, but Shinjuku SBD is more musical and artistic. Although it cannot be said to be “completely different” because it is transcendent from the beginning, the sense of separation and dynamism that is directly connected to the table becomes even more vivid, and the three-dimensional effect of the venue spectacle also feels vast. The result is a live album that lets you hear the delusions of “What if it was actually officially released?” as a reality. Focusing on the three albums “JAILBREAK,” “BLACK ROSE,” and “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING,” this is a great hits list that includes a selection of Scott Gorham’s representative songs since he joined the band, and evenly selected songs from all of Scott Gorham’s albums except for “CHINATOWN.” They performed all 13 songs that were heard on “ONE NIGHT ONLY”, and even performed “Emerald”, “Angel of Death”, “Got to Give it Up”, and “Thunder & Lightning”. And the performance that spins such a masterpiece is even better than “ONE NIGHT ONLY”. After all, the big one is the originator, Brian Downey! The reorganized THIN LIZZY became a regular group in 1996, but Downey gradually withdrew from the band and left the band completely in 1998. He was replaced by Tommy Aldridge, who had originally participated as a pinch hitter for Downey. Although Tommy is also a master, his unique groove and seemingly simple but actually versatile phrasing are what THIN LIZZY is all about.
