Description
THIN LIZZY in 1983, who welcomed the young hero John Sykes and tried to decorate the beauty of excellence. A new excavation live album that allows you to fully experience the scene is here. This work is recorded in “Gothenburg performance on April 29, 1983”. It is a powerful audience recording. Speaking of the Sykes era, the two official live albums “LIFE” and “BBC RADIO ONE” and the Hitchin performance pro shot are famous. First of all, let’s use them as a foothold to grasp the position of the show. 1982 (September: John Sykes joins) 1983 January 26th – March 3rd: UK #1 (21 performances) ←※ Official Hitchin video March 4th “THUNDER AND LIGHTNING” released March 6th – April 10th: UK #2 (24 performances) ←※ Official LIFE / Dublin video April 27th – May 4th: Europe #1 (6 performances) ←★ Here ★ May 17th – 23rd: Japan (5 performances) (Once tour ended) August 28th – September 4th: Europe #2 (4 performances) ←※ Official BBC RADIO ONE This is the journey from John Sykes joining to the disbandment. For us, the performance in Japan in May is a memorable one, but the Gothenburg performance of this work was about three weeks before that. It was the third performance of “Europe #1”. This work, recorded at such a show, is a newly excavated master that jumped out of the much-talked-about “Barrhult” collection. It seems to be a 2nd generation master that is not recorded by Mr. “Barrhult” himself, but the on-on, powerful core has no sense of air at all, and each of the twin guitars is clear despite its power. Moreover, if there is no sense of sparseness, the density is dense, and when it gets quiet between songs, it is so clear that you can even hear the slight electromagnetic noise of “Zee” emitted from the amplifier. Since it is released as an audience recording, it is probably a customer record, but if you were to say “It’s an FM broadcast at that time,” you would believe it, and it is an extremely thick sound full of directness. The power sound depicts the full show of the farewell tour, which is different from the official live work. As you can see from the schedule above, the closest one is “LIFE LIVE,” so let’s organize it by comparing them. Classics (12 songs + α) Night Life: Sha La La (★) / Still In Love With You Fighting!!: Suicide (★) / Rosalie (★) Jailbreak: Jailbreak / Cowboy Song (★) / The Boys Are Back In Town / Emerald Others: Whiskey In The Jar (★) / Dancing In The Moonlight (★) / Are You Ready / Baby Drives Me Crazy (★) / Waiting For An Alibi / Angel Of Death Thunder and Lightning (6 songs) Thunder and Lightning / Baby Please Don’t Go / This Is The One (★) / The Holy War / The Sun Goes Down / Cold Sweat *Note: Songs marked with “★” are not available on the official album “LIFE LIVE”. …And so on. “Whiskey In The Jar” and “Dancing In The Moonlight” are medleys from “Rosalie”, so they are not played in full, but even so, there is a lot of variety. The new song “This Is The One” is a repertoire that cannot be heard even on “BBC RADIO ONE”, and “Sha La La” and “Baby Drives Me Crazy” were not even included in the professional shot footage of the Hitchin/Dublin performances. You can enjoy even the Sykes version of such a rare song with a thick sound like a soundboard. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of the disbandment of THIN LIZZY. During the farewell tour, various masterpieces were performed in various places to conclude the glorious history. Not only can you fully experience the scene with a thick sound, but it is also an indispensable item for rare song collections that do not have a soundboard. A unique personality that is still unparalleled. A thick audience recording of “Gothenburg performance on April 29, 1983”. It is a newly excavated 2nd generation master, and the strong core on the on has no sense of air at all, and each twin guitar is clear while being powerful. Moreover, if there is no sense of sparseness, the density is also dense, and it is an extremely tight sound like a soundboard. You can fully experience the delicious farewell tour with rare Sykes versions of songs such as “This Is The One”, “Sha La La”, and “Baby Drives Me Crazy” that you can’t hear on “LIFE” or “BBC RADIO ONE”.
