Description
Thin Lizzy released “Vagabonds Of The Western World” in the fall of 1973, and early the following year, Gary Moore replaced Eric Bell as a new guitarist, and they were actively performing live, but Gary left the band before the European tour in May. So the band quickly welcomed Andy Gee of ELLIS and John Kane of ATOMIC ROOSTER, HARD STUFF as guitarists for the European tour. This was the first time that the twin guitars, which are indispensable to the sound of Thin Lizzy, were featured, and two months later, a live performance from a precious period during the transitional period of the golden lineup with Scott Gorham and Braan Robertson was released as a superb stereo soundboard recording. It’s Only Money is recorded halfway through, but the stage in Germany in May 1974 is recorded for about 64 minutes with a very vivid high-quality stereo line recording. Although the two guitarists joined suddenly and only had a few days to rehearse, they put on a high-quality show with a good balance between solos and backing. The two players, who are different in style, have good chemistry, and although there are occasional disruptions to the ensemble, they perform surprisingly lively and energetic performances on all songs. There is a problem with the tape playback before Rock ‘N’ Roll With You, but there is no problem with the song. (There is a tape change cut in the middle of the drum solo.) Fortunately, Phil Lynott’s vocals, bass, and Brian Downey’s drums are also recorded very clearly, so you can enjoy this very precious show from this period in perfect quality. For Thin Lizzy fans, this is a must-listen album that is sure to be the best one of the year. Live in Germany May 1974 STEREO SBD 1. It’s Only Money 2. Little Darlin’ 3. Slow Blues 4.
