Description

In conjunction with the release of The Who’s CD title “ZURICH 1980”, we have prepared the best items of The Who! This DVD is a complete recording of the Who’s full set at the “Cambodian Refugee Relief Concert” held at the Hammersmith Odeon in London the year before “ZURICH 1980″ with the finest professional shots and soundboard audio. . At this event, along with Paul McCartney, who proposed the project, The Who were given the same amount of time as a regular one-man concert, and received exceptional treatment (which is no surprise). Therefore, it is recorded for a long time of 2 hours and 37 minutes. Because there is a time code at the top of the screen, you can tell that it was an official shot and was used as an editing master for later TV broadcasts (this scene was also broadcast in Japan on NHK’s ” (Broadcast on Young Music Show). This board is a perfect recording of the original master without any loss of quality. In the broadcast version at that time, only three songs, Sister Disco, Behind Blue Eyes, and See Me, Feel Me, were broadcast due to time allocation with other performing artists. Only four songs with O’Riley added were included. Still, although I was able to confirm the brave figure of The Who who revived splendidly with Kenny Jones and John Rabbit Bandrick, it is an undeniable fact that it was unsatisfactory. What’s more, the concert’s live album is extremely rare as it has never been released on CD, perhaps due to rights issues. Therein lies the significance of this edition. This is a first-class document that conveys The Who’s full stage performance with perfect camera work and audio. If there is no time code, it can be said that the quality is no problem even if it is officially released as it is. Pete has been using Schecter’s Telecaster from the beginning, but at time code 6:46 of I Can’t Explain, the guitar’s sound stops due to trouble with the pedal switch. Taking this into consideration, I changed to a number 3 Les Paul for the next song, Baba O’Riley, but this also had the problem of being out of tune. Therefore, you can see the scene where they switch back to Schecter’s Telecaster from the next song. This vivid stage pattern can also be confirmed only on this board. Roger’s microphone-twirling action and Pete’s fan (windmill) playing technique, which has become macho like a Greek statue, are in full swing from the beginning. Even if you’re only interested in Who from the Keith Moon era, this is a video that you should watch and feel like you’ve been fooled. This fu is amazing. Please see with your own eyes the brave figure of The Who who has made a spectacular comeback after Moon’s death. Live at Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK 28th December 1979 PRO-SHOT(UPGRADE) 1.
