Description

Greatest Hits Tour “THE WHO HITS 50!” to celebrate 50th anniversary. It seemed like things had come to a halt in July of last year, but in 2016, it restarted for the first time in almost seven months. Currently, dates have been announced until the end of May, but most of them are in North America, with the only exception being the kickoff performance for the second leg in London. This work is a live album containing that first night. This work includes “February 13, 2016 SSE Arena performance”. “SSE Arena” is a traditional venue also known around the world as “Empire Pool” and “Wembley Arena.” This work, which breathes in the atmosphere of a venue with 12,000 people, is a wonderful recording with a vivid musical tone that is unbelievable for its scale. Not only is the core thick, but the edges are sharp. To call it “just like a sound board”, there is a feeling of roaring air in a huge space, but the sound is transparent, and the core of the sharp musical tone penetrates through it. Although it is definitely a great recording, it is a sound that I would like to call a clear “clear” recording. In fact, as soon as this recording appeared on the internet, even the all-important “first day of reopening” topic was blown away, and attention was focused on the wonderful sound. This work was finished with mastering that takes full advantage of the deliciousness of the clear recording. The world of the hit parade “THE WHO HITS 50!” that pops out with such clear sound is truly gorgeous. Famous songs that have left their mark on history will be performed one after another. It goes beyond just one band and even feels like a collection of representative British songs. There are no major changes from last year’s live show, but if I had to say it, it would be “The Rock.” The famous song of “Quadruple Personality” has been revived for the first time in three years and is now a member of the hit parade. …Well, I’ve given you a comprehensive introduction, but this work doesn’t just have good sound, and it’s not just a list of famous songs. Of course, that is the main premise, but what makes this work shine even more than that is actually the cheers. Although they have repeatedly talked about the greatness of their clear musical tones, the breath of the 12,000 people staring at them is also very clear. Of course, since it was THE WHO’s home performance, the audience was probably older, and I didn’t see any young people making a lot of noise, but there were applause for the band, laughter from the MC with plenty of British humor, and a chorus singing along to hit songs. It spreads throughout the large venue with plenty of transparency. This sense of scale and on-site feel is irresistibly delicious. Immerse yourself in an atmosphere of fun and overflowing with feelings for the band, and your whole body is enveloped in the laid-back atmosphere that is unique to your home country. Yes, this. This is it. Because of this on-site feeling, audience recording cannot be stopped. Moreover, this is my home country. A huge audience who were definitely present at the final stage of a legendary band, and who listened to the weight of it and sang as if it was superimposed on their own lives. The smell of Britain is different from any other country because it is a gathering of people who have lived and breathed the existence of THE WHO. “THE WHO HITS 50!” has resumed from London, where THE WHO was born 52 years ago. Their latest live album is a masterpiece that delivers the breeze and smell of their homeland. This is a great rock album, whether you want to breathe in the fragrant British air through the speakers, savor your own memories with the many hit songs, or just sing along with your head blank.
