Description

At the height of their popularity, they embarked on their first European tour in the fall of that year. The tour was recorded by a British TV station in “DOORS ARE OPEN,” and the stage performance was also shown at the Roundhouse in London. The live performance at the venue took place over two days, and the monaural audience recording on the second day, September 7, has been a standard since the days of LPs. Dallas boasts exceptional freshness and stereo feeling, so compared to that, it is only a quality of “easy-to-listen-to vintage audience.” Nevertheless, for the reasons mentioned above, it continued to be released as an item, and the CD was released under the name “ROUNDHOUSE BLUES.” Furthermore, the items from the LP era were widely distributed in inferior versions such as the American-made “WIRED TRIANGLE” and “THE LIZARD KING PLAYS LONDON,” which were copied from the European-made “THE LIZARD KING,” distorting the original ease of listening. In addition, not only the LP but also “ROUNDHOUSE BLUES” was released with the omission of “When The Music’s Over” from the second show where recording begins halfway through, and the pitch deviation was neglected, so only items with some kind of misunderstanding were released. Therefore, this time, the pitch was adjusted from the master version circulating among Doors traders without going through the Internet and recorded. As mentioned in Dallas, the first show’s “Five To One” was adopted for the official “BOOT YER BUTT! THE DOORS BOOTLEGS” again on this day because it was easy to hear, so the version on the Internet tends to be cut and circulated with the same song. The first show’s “Break On Through” is a performance with a different atmosphere from Dallas, and Jim Morrison’s aggressive shouting is intense. Also, “When The Music’s Over” from the second show, which was often cut from past items, has a heartwarming scene where the audience claps in response to Ray Manzarek’s keyboard, even though it was recorded halfway through. And above all, “The End”, which was not performed in Dallas, is performed in the second show, and the dramatic performance, which seems to be conscious of the mecca of Shakespeare’s plays, is a great performance that lasts more than 15 minutes.
