Description

In the 80s, Robbie Robertson left the band, and the band reformed with Rick Danko as the core member, and Jules Shear on guitar and vocals. After Richard Manual passed away, the band performed at the Lone Star Roadhouse in New York on July 30th and 31st, 1991, recorded on radio soundboards for both gigs. Around this time, the band was actively performing live as a new line-up, and they also performed an unreleased album called “Tombstone,” which was scheduled for release but ultimately fell through. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the set included not only the standard numbers, but also Billy Preston’s “God’s Law” and “Round in Circle,” and the Beatles’ “Get Back,” perhaps due to Danko’s connection with the Ringo Starr Band.
