This is the first time that a treasured master recording of the January 24th live performance, the third day of a four-day CBGB concert in January 1976, has been released! This is the first time that a treasured recording of the January 24th live performance, the third day of a four-day concert with Talking Heads at CBGB in New York from January 22-25, 1976, has been released! Digitally transferred directly from the master cassette, it offers a stable mono sound, with clear, loud vocals and well-balanced parts, resulting in reasonably good sound quality for the time. The final day of the four-day CBGB concert was previously available on the same label’s previously released “LET ME OUT,” but now the recording of the third day has finally been unearthed! The set was split into two sets. The second half of the first set’s final track, “Torn Curtain,” the first half of the second set’s opening track, and the second half of the second set’s closing track, “Kingdom Come,” are missing. The tape was stopped between songs, likely to conserve tape, but otherwise the set is flawless. The set includes tracks from their debut album, “MARQUEE MOON,” released the following year, the single “Little Johnny Jewel,” a cover of the 13th Floor Elevators’ “Fire Engine,” and a vocal version of “O Mi Amore,” an instrumental version of which was later released as an extra track on the CD as “Untitled.” The setlist also includes rare tracks previously unreleased at live shows, such as “Let Me Out” and “Kingdom Come.” CBGBs, New York City, NY January 24, 1976 (1st set) 01.Fire Engine 02Prove It 03.Little Johnny Jewel 04.O Mi Amore 05.Torn Curtain(Incomplete) (2nd set) 06.Psychotic Reaction(Incomplete) 07.Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door 08.Venus de Milo 09.Friction 10.Guiding Light 11.See No Evil 12.Let Me Out 13.Kingdom Come(Incomplete)
