Description

TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND colored the early summer of Japan with hot blues rock. Introducing an original recording set that will cover all of the Tokyo performances. This work includes performances at “June 14, 15, and 16, 2019: Tokyo Dome City Hall.” This is the best audience recording. The other day, the breaking news album “AMAGASAKI 2019” was in the midst of great popularity, and this work is the second release following that. First of all, let’s organize the composition of this work from the schedule of this visit to Japan.・June 11th “AMAGASAKI 2019” ・June 12th: Zepp Nagoya《June 13th: Move & Off》・June 14th: Tokyo Dome City Hall [This work DISC1-2] ・June 15th: Tokyo Dome City Hall [Disc 3-4] June 16th: Tokyo Dome City Hall [Disc 5-6] Total of 5 performances. Starting from Osaka (Amagasaki) and Nagoya, the latter three performances were held at Tokyo Dome City Hall for three consecutive days. This work is a collectible 6-disc set that completely records the entire three days. Moreover, it’s not just three performances at the same venue. In fact, if the recorder who recorded at the scene is the same, the equipment is also the same. It is a live set that allows fixed point observation for 3 days in the exact same environment. And the quality is excellent. The thick core reaches straight through, and the sound from the hall is so faint that you only notice it when you listen carefully with headphones. The details stand out clearly in the transparency, and even though it’s a large household of 12 people, they are neatly separated without clumping together. If the best slide guitars of today are glossy, the horns are also filled with a beautiful metallic luster. You can feel the sound of the audience in the snare tone, but it is a clear sound that is far from the audience record. Moreover, it is awe-inspiring because that sound pervades the entire three performances. Although the nuances are strictly different due to the subtle differences in the seats, it is so subtle that it is difficult to put into words. None of the shows are superior or inferior, and their strong and direct personalities are a perfect match. In fact, even if you insert the wrong disc, you’ll continue listening without even realizing it. Three performances with such similar sounds would normally be boring. However, this is not the case, and on the contrary, TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND makes me happy. As you know, they usually change the set drastically every day. Moreover, perhaps because this Tokyo performance will be held at the same venue three times in a row, there is a tremendous amount of variety. Evidence rather than theory. Let’s take a look at the songs played during the three days in Tokyo. ●REVELATOR・First day: Midnight In Harlem・3rd day: Midnight In Harlem, Bound For Glory ●MADE UP MIND・First day: Do I Look Worried, Part of Me, Made Up Mind・2nd day: Don’t Drift Away, Idle Wind・Day 3: Part of Me, Made Up Mind ●LET ME GET BY・First day: Don’t Know What It Means, I Want More・Day 2: Laugh About It, Let Me Get By, Just As Strange・3rd day: Right on Time, I Want More ●SIGNS/HIGH & MIGHTY・1st day: Signs, High Times, High & Mighty, Shame ・2nd day: Hard Case, I’m Gonna Be There, Shame・3rd day Eyes: Signs, High Times, When Will I Begin, Hard Case ●Cover and others・First day: The Letter (THE BOX TOPS), Down In The Flood (Bob Dylan), Somebody Pick Up My Pieces (Willie Nelson), I Pity The Fool (Bobby Bland), Statesboro Blues (with Blind Willie McTell: Don Was) Day 2: Anyday (DEREK AND THE DOMINOS), Get What You Deserve (THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND), Sweet Inspiration (THE SWEET INSPIRATIONS), Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’ (THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND), Space Captain (Joe Cocker) Day 3: Keep On Growing (THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND), Key To The Highway (Blues Standard) ), Leavin’ Trunk/Volunteered Slavery (Sleepy John Estis/Roland Kirk), Angel From Montgomery/Sugaree (John Prine/GRATEFUL DEAD), With a Little Help From My Friends (THE BEATLES) *The numbers in parentheses are Original artist…well, this is a huge volume. It became so long that it became a hassle to search for your favorite songs in detail, but there were so many great songs played. Although there are some songs that were played at two performances, such as the new songs “Shame” and “Signs, High Times,” there were no songs that were played over the three days. In particular, the covers, which used to include five songs every day, are completely replaced, and the song selection is incredibly wide. Although it is difficult to count since there are medley arrangements, there are over 35 songs to enjoy over the three days. When things like this happen, instead of getting tired of the very similar sounds, I’m grateful that I get to hear them again. The length of time is directly linked to the abundance of variety, and it stays fresh no matter how long you listen to it. Even if the day changes, there is no sense of discomfort, and it is as if it was one super big concert lasting 6 hours and 17 seconds. TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND, the best and strongest live act of today. This is a rare 6-disc set that allows you to experience his passionate performances and a large amount of repertoire over 6 hours. This is the only live album in the world that allows you to observe a vast collection of famous songs from a fixed point with such high-quality sound and performance. This is also a pleasure that can only be experienced with audience recording, and is the real pleasure of TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND. A rare 6-disc set that is rarely seen anywhere in the world.
