Description

TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is less than a month away from their first performance in Japan in three years. With the expectations building, the latest original recording is here, which will give a glimpse into their upcoming performance in Japan. This work includes the “London performance on April 26th and 27th, 2019”. This is an audience set that completely records two consecutive performances at the famous venue, the London Palladium. This year, with the release of their first new album in three years, “SIGNS”, they are more active than usual. First, let’s check the show position from their schedule.・January 17th-February 2nd: North America #1 (13 performances)《SIGNS released on February 15th》・February 15th-March 2nd: North America #2 (10 performances)・April 2nd-27th: Europe (17 performances)←★Here★・May 10th-25th: North America #3 (11 performances)・June 11th-16th: Japan (5 performances)・June 28th-August 22nd: North America #4 (26 performances)・September 27th-October 5th: New York (6 performances)・November 6th-16th: North America #5 (7 performances)This is the schedule that has been announced so far. The style is to focus on the main battlefield of North America, while inserting Europe in April and Japan in June. Currently in the middle of “North America #3”, it will come to Japan afterwards. The London performance of this work is the last two days of the “Europe” leg just before that. These were the only two UK gigs in 2019, and this work is a four-disc set that includes a two-disc full recording that completely records the entire story. This work is a masterpiece audience recording with excellent quality. Both performances are the original masters of this work, handed over directly from the same recordist, who is a familiar master at our store as a “British master.” He is a person who combines the realistic atmosphere of DAT recording with modern clarity, and this work is a wonderful example of his individuality. In particular, on the first day, “April 26th (Disc 1-2),” the sound of the snare has an audience-like feel, but the transparent atmosphere is far from the customer record. The core that reaches straight to the hand is powerful and fresh, and the hall sound that is slightly wrapped gives a glossy look without becoming cloudy or turbid. Derek’s guitar is precise even to the picking nuances, and Susan’s vocals are a breath-level reality. Of course, there are differences between the two days due to the difference in position, but there is also a sense of unity due to the same venue, the same equipment, and the same recorder. If the first day (Disc 1-2) is a super clear type, the second day “April 27th (Disc 3-4)” is a gorgeous type with a thick sound, and the personality and quality of the master that runs through it is not shaken in the slightest. You can fully immerse yourself in the two performances that last about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Moreover, this work is not just a two-performance set. TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND is also known for changing the set flexibly, but this work is only two consecutive performances at the same venue, and the way it changes is amazing. Although nearly 20 songs are played on both days, there are no overlapping songs. Not a single song is the same, and it is a live album that feels like one show of about 5 hours. And that huge repertoire is perfect for preparing for the upcoming Japan performance. Let’s organize the masterpieces here. 【REVELATOR (1 song + 1 song)】・Day 1: Midnight in Harlem・Day 2: Bound For Glory【MADE UP MIND (2 songs + 5 songs)】・Day 1: Do I Look Worried, Made Up Mind・Day 2: Don’t Drift Away, Part Of Me, It’s So Heavy, Idle Wind, The Storm【LET ME GET BY (4 songs + 2 songs)】 ・Day 1: Laugh About It, Just As Strange, Right On Time, Let Me Get By・Day 2: Don’t Know What It Means, I Want More【SIGNS (4 songs + 3 songs)】・Day 1: I’m Gonna Be There, When Will I Begin, Hard Case, Shame・Day 2: Signs, High Times, Walk Through This Life, High And Mighty 【Other covers (8 songs + 7 songs)】・Day 1: Within You Without You (The Beatles), Somebody Pick Up My Pieces (Willie Nelson), Down In The Flood (Bob Dylan), Keep On Growing (Derek & The Dominos), Leaving Trunk (Sleepy John Estes), Volunteered Slavery (Roland Kirk), Don’t Keep Me Wondering (Allman Brothers Band), How Blue Can You Get? (Johnny Moore’s Three Brazers) Day 2: The Letter (Box Tops), Key To The Highway (Charlie Seagal), Bird On The Wire (Leonard Cohen), Space Captain (Joe Cocker), I Pity The Fool (Bobby Bland), Get What You Deserve (Derek Trucks Band), Dreams (Allman Brothers Band) *Note: The artists who covered the songs are listed in parentheses. …And so it goes. Selections are made from all of his albums, from his debut to his latest album, “SIGNS,” and there are plenty of covers of classic rock songs and blues standards. You can experience a total of 37 songs that seem to exhaust all of the current repertoire. We don’t know which songs they will play at their next Japan performance, and it will vary greatly depending on the venue you see. Such flexibility is the best part of TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND, but this work is also the best set to experience their breadth and prepare at once. The wonderful performance that will instantly ignite your smoldering expectations, the neat and beautiful sound, and the huge number of masterpieces. This is a big 4-disc set that allows you to fully enjoy the variety of shows that are only possible with two consecutive shows, with the same recording artist’s collection. It’s perfect for preparation, and the original recording is great even if you keep playing it for half a day.
