Description

Beautiful genius bassist Tal Wilkenfeld released his first solo album in 12 years, “LOVE REMAINS”, and made his first solo visit to Japan in 4 years. Her finest original recordings will be released at the same time. Among them, this work was recorded at the Tokyo performance held on “August 29, 2019”. This is the best audience recording. This time, there will be a total of 6 performances in Japan, 2 performances over 3 days. First, let’s check the show’s position from the schedule.・August 28th “LIVE IN TOKYO 2019 1ST NIGHT: 1ST STAGE” ・August 28th “TOKYO 2019 1ST NIGHT: 2ND STAGE” ・August 29th: Tokyo (daytime performance) ・August 29th: Tokyo (night performance) Performance) ←★This work★ – Moved & Off- August 31st: Osaka (daytime performance) August 31st: Osaka (evening performance) This is the 2019 performance in Japan. The other two albums that will be released at the same time are both the first day of the album, but this one is a live album of the “second night”. This work is also a sister work to “TOKYO 2019 1ST NIGHT: 2ND STAGE”. Not only was it at the same venue, but it was also recorded by the same recording artist with the same equipment. Therefore, the sound is also very similar to “1ST NIGHT: 2ND STAGE”. Although there are slight differences in position, the club-scale closeness is wonderful, and it is an up-to-date sound that allows you to enjoy the stage physically right in front of you. Although they are very similar, if I were to point out a difference between the sister works, this one picks up a little more hall sound. Of course, it’s a minor difference between the phones, and it’s not enough to create a sense of distance in the exposed core of the PA output sound. However, the subtle rumbles add power to the performance and give the singing voice an exquisite luster. The chords have a deeper sense of fantasy, and the simple melody has a mystical feel to it. Because of the solid thickness of the extra-thick core, even the sharp rise of the drums, like a plosive sound, can be felt beautifully. It is an ideal sound that does not cloud the edges of the core, but rather adds power. The sound depicts a wonderful show with an expanded set and a relaxed feeling. The set, like the other performances, is centered on the complete performance of “LOVE REMAINS” (the order of the songs is different, so it is not a reproduction), and cover songs are also included. In “1ST NIGHT: 2ND STAGE”, THE SMITHS’ “How Soon Is Now?” was played, but in this work, the Beatles’ “Happiness Is A Warm Gun” was also added. There are no songs that have been deleted, and the show itself is long (albeit slightly). This is probably the last show in Tokyo. Taru himself seems to be conscious of this, as he says, “How are you? I’m Taru. Last show in Tokyo,” and you can feel it in his performance as well. Perhaps because it was their fourth performance at the same venue, the tension disappeared from their singing voices, and the improvised phrases seemed relaxed. Of course, this doesn’t mean it’s null. Rather, there is a feeling of freedom as the next day is a day off. He successfully survived the 4 performances in Tokyo and was satisfied with the audience’s reaction, which makes his phrases even more mellow. Among the four performances in Tokyo that were concentrated over two days, the last show, “The Night Performance on the 2nd Day,” was the most fulfilling in terms of number of songs and content. This is a live album where you can enjoy the whole story with the best sound that feels like a closed room. Originally, I would like you to check out the expression of each performance in all three works released at the same time, but if you have to choose only one, this work is recommended. A masterpiece that lets you get a close look at Taru’s growth and evolution as a musician. Tokyo, Japan 29th August 2019 (2nd Stage) TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (71:04) 1.
