Description

Suzi Quatro, a pioneer of female rock, was hugely popular in the 70s, especially in Europe and Japan. This album features a nearly full recording of a club gig in Boston from her 1979 US tour, recorded with soundboard recordings from FM on-air master. In Japan, she was called the “Queen of Sadistic Rock” and “Ecstatic Idol” in the mid-70s with explosive hits such as “Can The Can” and “48 Clash.” She was an idol-like figure in Japan, but she was not well-received in America. In 1978, she finally had a top 10 hit in the UK and Australia with “If You Can’t Give Me Love,” and the following year, in 1979, she released “Stumblin’ In,” a duo with Chris Norman of the Smokey Pig band, which finally became her first big hit in America. This title is a live performance from their first tour in the United States, so none of the songs that were big hits in Japan are performed. Instead, it includes the 1977 single “Tear Me Apart,” the 1979 single “She’s In Love With You,” and the hit song “Stumblin’ In,” as well as covers of Tom Petty and Chuck Berry. It’s a rare set in a sense, so it’s a must-have collector’s edition for fans of the past. Live at Paradise Club, Boston, Massachusetts, USA, 1979 : soundboard recording 01.
