Description

Styx, who had numerous US hits from the 70s to the early 80s, have released their precious unreleased album “Son of Edge” in official-quality soundboard audio from master tapes leaked by someone involved with the band. Originally scheduled for release in 1992, the album was shelved by the record company, who judged it wouldn’t sell due to the rise of the grunge movement led by Nirvana in America at the time. This release features nine demo tracks that were intended for that album, all in master quality, making it a legendary, unreleased album following their 1990 album “Edge of the Century,” and finally available to fans. At the time, Tommy Shaw was not participating, and the band was aiming to resume activities with a new guitarist, Glen Burtnik. This recording features this lineup and contains previously unreleased material, making it a must-listen for long-time fans.
