Description

The 2017 Japan tour was a great success. The ultimate live album is here to conclude the tour. Our shop has released the masterpieces “BUDOKAN 2017 2ND NIGHT”, “BUDOKAN 2017 3RD NIGHT” and “OSAKA 2017” at once, but the “June 6, 2017: Nippon Budokan” performance was not released. This work is an audience album that will bring to the peak of the only remaining “first day at Budokan”. First of all, let’s organize the Japan tour schedule and the titles so far. ・June 6: Nippon Budokan [this work] ・June 7: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 2017 2ND NIGHT” ・June 8: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 2017 3RD NIGHT” ・June 10: Osaka City Central Gymnasium “OSAKA 2017” All four performances. With this work, the permanent preservation of all performances has been completed. The quality is amazing and the ears are incredible. It is an audience recording that appeared on the Internet, but it is the work of the person who worked on Paul McCartney’s “ONE ON ONE AT BUDOKAN” and “TOKYO DOME 2017 3RD NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER” and SANTANA’s “BUDOKAN 2017”. It is a tremendous work that goes with the words “The real master appears late”, and the core is also very thick and direct, which is worthy of being called “like a sound board”, and the glossy “ringing” can only be called “like an official”. Moreover, the crystal clear and transparent atmosphere is so magnificent that you forget that it is an audience recording, but the applause that spreads finely is certainly engraved with an octagonal three-dimensional sense. The best sound of the three previous works was “OSAKA 2017”, but it is a “masterpiece of the East” that is comparable to that masterpiece. It is such a wonderful recording, but there was only one flaw. That is the first song “Heading South On the Great North Road” in which Sting and his son Joe Sumner co-star. It seems that there was a problem with the recording of this song only, so another recording was connected. This replacement recording also has the same superb sound as the main part, but the problem was the connection process. It was connected raw, leaving the difference in nuance, and I couldn’t help but feel a moment of discomfort like “Hmm?” In this work, the difference in nuance is minimized and reconnected. It was adjusted to a level where you can’t tell even if you are told the connection point. This superb recording has been finished in the ultimate form that shows the maximum history. The first day depicted with that sound is also wonderful. Usually, the first day of a Japan tour is not so good due to jet lag, and sometimes people take a break beforehand to adjust for the time difference, but when they do that, the gap tends to dull their senses. However, this time Sting was different. He had performed in Hong Kong three days before, so it was a continuous tour. He was not jet-lagged and was fully prepared for his first day in Japan. No, maybe even better. In fact, the set, including the opening act, was the same as the second day at the Budokan, but the beauty of the melody and the sharpness of the beat felt even better because of the ultimate beautiful sound. In the commentary for “OSAKA 2017,” I wrote, “A masterpiece of a music album that I recommend to everyone, regardless of which performance you actually saw.” This work is also a live album of that dimension. In front of this overwhelming musical beauty, it doesn’t matter which country or which day. It’s just a night of masterpieces written with the ultimate sound. A world-class masterpiece that Sting, who has returned to rock in earnest, happened to leave behind in Japan.
