Description
“MY SONGS” is a song in which a rare genius songwriter delves deeply into his own music. That world has finally arrived in Japan. The first report, the finest original recording, is now available. There are two performances included in this work. This is a 4-disc set containing the best audience recording of “October 9th + 10th, 2019: Makuhari Messe”. At the time of this update, the final Osaka performance is still in progress. First, let’s check the show’s position from its Japan schedule.・October 7: Fukuoka International Center ・October 9: Makuhari Messe ★Disc 1-2★ ・October 10: Makuhari Messe ★Disc 3-4★ ・October 13: Xebio Arena Sendai・October 15th: Maruzen Intec Arena Osaka, 5 performances in total. The tour will run from Tohoku in the north to Kyushu in the south, with two performances in Makuhari in the Kanto area. This work is a live set that vacuum-packs the entire picture at once. Moreover, the quality of this work is also superb. Both performances are original masters for this work that were given to me by the same recording artist, but I was blown away by the sound that came out when played. Anyway, it’s extremely clear and you can’t feel any sense of distance. If you listen carefully with headphones, you can spot the sound of a hall in the edges of Sting’s words or the sound of the harmonica, but that’s because I tried my best to find it. There is almost no sense of space in the snare and bass drum, which tend to sound like a guest record, and it is a superb sound that goes “like a sound board” on the ground. It is hard to say that the rectangular Makuhari Messe is suitable for audience recording, but how did they achieve such a wonderful sound? Moreover, both performances are wonderful because they are made by the same recording artist. The second day (discs 3-4) picks up a little more hall sound, but it is still the best. You can experience two performances at once with a unified sound. What is depicted in such a sound world is the ultimate best song selection show. Although the basics are based on the Western version, it is the latest version with many fine adjustments. The contents are… ●THE POLICE (9 songs)・OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR: So Lonely/Roxanne・REGGATTA DE BLANC: Message In A Bottle/Walking On The Moon・ZENYATTA MONDATTA: Driven to Tears・GHOST IN THE MACHINE: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic ・SYNCHRONICITY: Wrapped Around Your Finger/Every Breath You Take/King Of Pain ●Solo and others (11 songs)・THE DREAM OF THE BLUE TURTLES: If You Love Somebody Set Them Free・…NOTHING LIKE THE SUN: Englishman In New York/Fragile ・TEN SUMMONER’S TALES: If I Ever Lose My Faith In You/Seven Days/Fields Of Gold/Shape Of My Heart・BRAND NEW DAY: Brand New Day/Desert Rose・SACRED LOVE: Whenever I Say Your Name・44/876: If You Can’t Find Love…and it goes like this, which is common to both performances. It’s a shame that the song “Next to You” that was played at the last Korean performance (which you can enjoy on “SLOW LIFE SLOW LIVE 2019”) was dropped, but instead, in this work, “Driven to Tears” and “Whenever I Say” Your Name” is set in. They will also perform “Seven Days,” which they did not perform on the first day in Japan in Fukuoka. Among the ultimate best, “If You Can’t Find Love” is unique, but this may be a selection to make use of tour members Kevon Webster, Melissa Musik, and Jean Noble. The three are Shaggy-connected musicians, especially Melissa and Gene, who also participated in “44/876”, and in this song you can hear their performance as the leading role along with Sting. In any case, the sound is of the highest level, which is rare even in the world. This is a luxurious 4-disc set where you can enjoy two performances of the best selection of songs in this shining world of sound. I don’t know what kind of masterpiece recording will appear from Sendai or Osaka, but it may be difficult to surpass this work… A powerful live set for the first time.
