Description
Steve Hackett’s latest performance in Japan, where his reproduction of the masterpieces “Moonlight Knight” and “Seconds Out” has been very well received. Following the first report the other day, further superb original recordings have arrived. Two works will be released simultaneously! This work is recorded at the “July 10, 2022: Club Citta Kawasaki” performance. This is a superb audience recording that vacuum-packs the whole story. The consecutive releases last week and this week will complete this visit to Japan, but which work is from which show? Just to be sure, let’s organize it once again here. ・July 8th “KAWASAKI 2022 1ST NIGHT” ・July 9th “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT” ・July 10th: Club Citta Kawasaki ←★This work★ That’s all three performances. This time, there were only three consecutive performances at Club Citta Kawasaki, and this work is the final part of the trilogy. This work recorded at such a show is an exquisite masterpiece. Like the simultaneously released “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT”, this is an original recording by “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper” for this work only. The sound of this work is of a superb level comparable to “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT” because it was recorded at the same venue, with the same equipment, and by the same recorder. This is a famous recording that goes “like a sound board” with a very thick core approaching with zero sense of distance. However, are they so similar that they cannot be distinguished? That’s not the case. “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT” stood out for its clear contours even with its very thick feeling, but this work excels in the dynamism of the sound. What is particularly striking is the thickness of the deep bass. Normally, when the hall sound is thick in an audience recording, it tends to transform into a sense of distance and a sparse feeling of the core, but this work is completely different. The thick, tightly-fitting core is the same as in “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT”, and the bass and bass drums vibrate the walls and floors of the venue, enveloping the vibe in detail (while this bass is truly amazing, the rich bass may require a slightly more selective playback environment). Therefore, while it is very powerful, the mid-tones of the guitar and vocals that penetrate the center are clear, and the high notes of the synths shine brightly with a rich extension. For those who love the weightiness of symphonic rock and the power of the beat, this work is no wonder to be a masterpiece. Such a powerful dynamic sound depicts a full show with the keywords “Moonlight Knight” and “Seconds Out” that we have introduced so far. In fact, the set is completely the same for three days. Let’s change the subject a little and reorganize it in comparison with the official live album “GENESIS REVISITED LIVE: SECONDS OUT & MORE” scheduled to be released in September. Part 1: Seconds Out (sides A and B) Squonk, The Carpet Crawlers, Robbery, Assault & Battery, Afterglow, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, The Musical Box, Supper’s Ready Part 2: Moonlit Knight (all songs), Dancing With the Moonlit Knight (★), I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe), Firth of Fifth, More Fool Me (★), The Battle of Epping Forest (★), After the Ordeal (★), The Cinema Show, Aisle of Plenty Encore: Seconds Out (side D) Dance on a Volcano, Los Endos (incl. Slogans) *Note: Songs marked with “★” are not included in the official live album “GENESIS REVISITED LIVE: SECONDS OUT & MORE”. …And so it goes. The official live album based on the overseas set simply reproduced “Seconds Out” perfectly, but the performance in Japan was different. The “Moonlight Knight” section (part 2) is set in the middle. The “Moonlight Knight” number is removed from the first part, making the flow tighter and sharper, and the overall composition is remodeled to be what could be called an “extended version of Seconds Out” that incorporates the entire “Moonlight Knight” and greatly increases the progressive feel. To be honest, the official album that will be released this time is a “complete reproduction live album of a live album,” which is a little difficult to grasp the meaning of, but this work can be enjoyed freshly as a “build-up album of a masterpiece live album.” “Seconds Out,” the culmination of GENESIS’s Hackett era, and its masterpiece “Moonlight Knight.” This is a three-disc epic that combines the two. The final part of the trilogy that allows you to complete the special set created for the Japanese performance. The best audience recording of the performance “July 10, 2022: Club Citta Kawasaki”. This is the final part of a trilogy that includes all three performances in Japan in 2022, and like the previous work “KAWASAKI 2022 2ND NIGHT”, it is a masterpiece by “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”. It is extremely dynamic, with a sound that specializes in the thickness of the bass more than “2ND NIGHT”. You can fully experience the world of “Seconds Out”, which has been expanded by incorporating the whole of “Moonlight Knight”.
