Description
Following last year’s concert with an orchestra, they released their new work “AT THE EDGE OF LIGHT” and announced the shocking “SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND” complete reproduction tour… Steve Hackett continues to be active, hard to believe that he is 69 years old. The latest live album is now available. This work includes the “February 6, 2019 CRUISE TO THE EDGE” performance. This is a superb audience recording of the annual shipboard event. This event is also famous as a mass production area for great recordings, and every year there are a number of extremely high quality recordings. At our store, the PFM edition, YES edition, and SOFT MACHINE edition titled “CRUISE TO THE EDGE 2019” have been very popular. This work is the latest edition of Hackett. Also, as mentioned earlier, Hackett is currently a hot topic. Let’s look back at their activities on a schedule and imagine the position of the show. [“AT THE EDGE OF LIGHT” released on January 25th]・February 5th + 6th: CRUISE TO THE EDGE (2 performances) ←★Coco★・February 10th + 13th: ON THE BLUE CRUISE (2 Performances) “GENESIS REVISITED TOUR 2019” April 22nd – June 5th: Europe (31 performances) September 12th – October 20th: North America (27 performances) November 2nd – 29th: UK (20 performances) This is the schedule announced so far. They are so energetic that they have already decided to run until the end of November. A complete reproduction of “SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND” has been announced for “GENESIS REVISITED TOUR 2019”, and we are looking forward to the performance in Japan. Possibly in the summer or in December. I couldn’t help but get my hopes up, but this concert is the second performance of “CRUISE TO THE EDGE” out of the two cruises set for the beginning of 2019. This work that recorded such a show is truly the best audience recording. In fact, this year’s PFM edition, YES edition, and SOFT MACHINE edition mentioned above were all written by the same person, “Lostbrook.” He is a recording artist who attracted attention for recording CARL PALMER’S ELP LEGACY with a splendid sound in last year’s “CRUISE TO THE EDGE”, and this year’s version has improved in both quality and quantity. Moreover, this work is especially exquisite among the series. The extremely thick core is right in front of you, and the atmosphere is really clear. Even though there is a faint atmosphere that you only notice when you listen carefully with headphones, it does not become cloudy or cloudy, giving the performance sound a gloss and shine. One or two miracles would be understandable, but they continue to record various bands while maintaining a tremendous level. Whether it’s the skill of the recorder or the sound of “CRUISE TO THE EDGE,” it’s the high quality that has attracted the world’s attention. The show drawn with that sound is a wonderful “latest GENESIS REVISITED”. Based on the previous reviews, there were expectations for a new song from “AT THE EDGE OF LIGHT” and a reenactment of “SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND,” but that’s still a little disappointing. However, compared to recent tours, the proportion of GENESIS numbers has increased significantly. The opening is “El Nino” of “THE NIGHT SIREN”, and the early “Every Day” and “Shadow Of The Hierophant (excerpt version)” are also played, but the solo songs are about that. Everything else is GENESIS. The contents are also quite a curveball. While performing classics such as “Firth Of Fifth,” “The Musical Box,” and “Los Endos,” they also performed “Fly On A Windshield / Broadway Melody Of 1974,” “Blood On The Rooftops,” “…In That Quiet Earth,” and “Afterglow.” A series of shots. It is a fresh set that solidifies and attacks songs that have been used as accents so far. What makes me most happy is that Hackett continues to do well. I won’t mention his name, but there are many progressive rock musicians of yesteryear who are happy just to be active, but Hackett is different. The guitar is still very clear, and the dramatic song design gives off a strong sense of being active. The coming “SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND” reenactment tour will definitely be wonderful… It is a live album that turns into confidence, not expectations. After completing two cruises, Hackett is recharging for the “GENESIS REVISITED TOUR 2019” starting in April. This is a superb live album that is perfect for the “now” as we wait for the record and the news of the Japan performance.
