Description
We have prepared a collection of professional shots of “MAGIC TOUR” where he shared the stage with QUEEN, who is arguably the representative of STATUS QUO in the 80’s. This work includes two types of television footage. Let’s quickly introduce each of them. [Main: Documentary video produced in West Germany] The main feature of this work is the television footage of the “August 9, 1986 Knebworth performance.” “MAGIC TOUR” itself was a huge success throughout Europe, but Knebworth was an especially huge concert that attracted 150,000 people. For this reason, it seems that documentaries have been made overseas as well. This work focuses on STATUS QUO, and includes professional shots with German narration and subtitles. It starts with the members of STATUS QUO arriving at the airport, and follows them closely as they travel by tour bus. And the best part was when we arrived at Knebworth. From the idyllic countryside to the backstage area, people began to gather in what looked like a campsite, creating a festival-like atmosphere. He looks really relaxed as he waits for his turn to perform, but when it is his turn to perform and he rushes onto the stage, there is a vast sea of people that spreads out all at once, with no end in sight… What’s amazing about this spectacle! I thought I knew that the number of 150,000 people was not a big deal, but actually seeing a sea of people wriggling around is much different than imagining it. LIVE AID’s Wembley Stadium is also amazing, but it’s literally on a whole other level. Mr. “Crazy S.” achieved such a super high quality recording in this sea… You can feel the weight of the miraculous sounds packed in the main press CD many times over. And then, STATUS QUO begins “Whatever You Want” with great force towards the human carpet. The video immediately changes to the backstage footage after the show, an interview, and a clip of “Rollin’ Home,” about 12 minutes in total. It is a video that truly says “seeing is believing”. [Bonus: News footage of the Newcastle performance] Next up is a valuable news footage of the “Newcastle performance on July 9, 1986,” which was held one month before the Knebworth performance. STATUS QUO accompanied them only on the 5 UK dates of the MAGIC TOUR, and on that day, QUEEN, STATUS QUO, INXS, and ZENO also performed. This video is only a few tens of seconds of the live scene of the performing band, but here too you can witness a huge sense of scale with multi-camera professional shots. In 1986, STATUS QUO caused a miracle with LIVE AID and signaled their revival. You can enjoy the full stage that will raise your spirits on the main press CD, but how huge was the highlight performance and how many British people were delighted? This is a valuable collection of professional shots that will tell you all this at a glance. Live at Knebworth Park, Stevenage, UK 9th August 1986 PRO-SHOT 1. Intro 2. Backstage 3.
