Description

Jazz giant Sonny Rollins’ show at London’s prestigious jazz club Ronnie Scott’s Club in 1968 is recorded in master quality and on the soundboard from the radio recording of the time. Although some parts are faded out or cut because it is a broadcast recording, tenor saxophonist Ronnie Scott, who also founded the club, also participates in three songs, “Bye Bye Blackbird”, “The Night Has A Thousand Eyes” and “Onnymoon For Two”, and they engage in a passionate tenor battle. In addition, the sidemen include British intellectual pianist Stan Tracey, making this a dream collaboration live with one of Britain’s most famous players alongside Tubby Hayes. In any case, Rollins’ live recordings from his younger days are rare, so this unreleased live performance is a must-listen item for fans to check out. Disc 1 : 01. Bye Bye Blackbird [*] (18:03) 02.
