Description

A new recording of a luxurious live session by three rare alto players has been released, which will delight fans. This is a superb audience recording of a dream collaboration live performance by three alto saxophones, played by Sonny Fortune and Gary Bartz, who are also students of Miles, and Vincent Harling, who is reminiscent of Cannonball but also pursues a modern sensibility such as Coltrane, and recorded at a close distance from the stage. If you look at the set list, you can see the charm of this live performance. In the opening, Footprints lasted for 20 minutes, and the three of them improvised in three different ways. In addition, Bartz’s spirituality in “Uncle Buddha”, which was included in the album “Monsoon”, is worth listening to. In the second half of the live performance, they performed “All Blues” and “Star Eyes”, which are impressive as students of Miles, and the final song was Miles’ masterpiece “Four”, which will allow you to once again experience the greatness of these three people. Other than that, with Ronnie Matthews on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, and Billy Hart on drums, there’s no way it’s bad. Please enjoy this 2 hour 25 minute live performance to the fullest.
