A compilation that summarizes the trajectory of the early “Soft Machine”, which continued to be active as it transformed from psychedelic to progressive rock to jazz rock in the 1960s. Contains outtakes and alternate versions of the albums “II” and “Third” released in 1970, which became more jazz-rock after Kevin Ayers left the band in 1969, as well as studio sessions for radio broadcasts and soundtracks.
