Description
Soft Machine’s 2009 live recording. Judging from the time period, it must have been around the time when the official name was “Soft Machine Legacy”. Soft Machine, like other prog rock bands, has had members change over and over again, but a few years ago Allan Holdsworth left and was replaced by John Etheridge, becoming the “Soft Machine Legacy.” If you think about it, Etheridge filled the hole left by Holdsworth in the 1970s as well. Elton Dean passed away, and Hugh Hopper also passed away the month before this live, and while the number of related members is decreasing, the oldest member, John Marshall, is still alive and well. And these members will form a stable lineup that will continue into the future. There are some parts where the volume is occasionally unstable, but other than that, it is a high-quality audience recording that can be mistaken for a sound board.
