Description
This is the first time that a treasured recording of a live performance held in New Zealand in April 1982, just before their second visit to Japan, has been completely recorded in a good stereo audience recording! The new Bungies, who replaced John McGough, who left the band due to his own problems with alcohol after the Madrid gig in October 1982, with Robert Smith, who would later form the Cure, as guitarist, performed a live performance at Wellington Town Hall, New Zealand on February 16, 1983, completely recorded in a good stereo audience recording! Recorded from the Low Gene Master, it has good sound quality with a stable feeling for the time, and although it was recorded from a slightly distant position, it has a wide range and is recorded with a clear sound without any annoying audience noise. The entire album is recorded uncut, from the opening sound effects to the end of the encore. The first day of the second Japan tour, which took place 11 days later, can be heard on the FM sound source on the same label’s already released album “IN JAPAN 83” and the audience sound source on “SHIBUYA KOKAIDO 83”. As with the first day of the Japan tour, it starts with “Overground”, and you can also hear Halloween, which was not heard on the Japan tour. This is a rare live performance from the time of Robert Smith, who only participated for a short period of time in the studio work, only on the album “Hyena” released the following year. Steve Severin and Robert Smith were also active in The Globe at the same time, and they had a well-coordinated sound, and you can’t miss Robert Smith playing the set list from the albums up to “Kiss in the Dreamhouse”!
