Description
Sheila E’s live performance with her band in Zurich in 1994 is recorded in a wonderful audience recording with a sense of realism. At this time, there was Eric Ries on the saxophone, and young Renato Neto, and in addition to Sheila’s roots in Latin drums, Billy Cobham was a guest and played the drums, making for a spectacular appearance. A fusion of madhouse and Latin, mixed with Sheila’s professionally arranged Prince hits, it’s very adult content. Eric’s jazzy saxophone is also good, but Renato’s keyboard with a strong presence makes you feel the elegance of The Rainbow Children, and you can see that his talent was blooming at a young age. Sheila has introduced many members to Prince, and this live performance clearly shows that Sheila had a pure culture within her band.
