Description
SCORPIONS came to Japan in 1994 for the first time in three years with Michael Schenker. A masterpiece original recording that conveys the scene is now available. This work is recorded at the “January 26, 1994: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall” performance. This is a superb audience recording. At that time, Michael was participating in the reunited UFO, but in between tours, he also accompanied SCORPIONS on tour to promote his solo album “THANK YOU”. They performed together in an acoustic session. Of course, Michael only accompanied them on some dates of the “FACE THE HEAT Tour”. Normally, we would organize the dates of their Japan tours by the dates of their Japan tours, but this is a good opportunity to look back on the whole world tour. 1993 September 10: Foundations Forum appearance (September 21st, “FACE THE HEAT” released) * September 14th – November 24th: Europe (43 shows) 1994 * January 24th – February 9th: Asia (5 shows) ←★here★ February 19th – March 21st: North America #1 (21 shows) March 22nd – April 9th: Central and South America (9 shows) June 8th – July 20th: North America #2 (30 shows) August 13th: Skanderborg show *Note: * indicates dates when Michael Schenker accompanied them. This is SCORPIONS in 1993/1994. Michael participated in the “Europe/Asia” leg immediately after the album was released. However, it is unclear whether Michael was present at all the shows, just because the live performances he participated in were in these two legs. In any case, the “Asia” leg started in Japan, and the Nagoya performance of this work was the third performance (the last day in Japan). This work recorded at such a show has a natural sound with fresh master freshness. Recently, our shop has been releasing a series of original DAT masters from the Nagoya area, and this work is one of them. It cannot be denied that it is a little farther away than other Nagoya collections, but the air is transparent, and the core that penetrates the center reaches you powerfully. In particular, the edge of the guitar and the vocals are vivid, and the twin entanglements are beautifully separated without mixing. And the highlight is the acoustic section placed in the middle of the show. Michael Schenker appears and plays a simple and moist melody, but the sound of this work has a sharp edge sound that beautifully depicts the modest acoustic guitar melody, filling you with a sense of embrace that falls with sparkling. And the whole venue supports the acoustic melody with handclaps, and the pleasure of immersing your whole body in the spaciousness and beauty is irresistible. Of course, the acoustic section is only a part of the show. Overall, there are plenty of masterpieces by SCORPIONS, the epitome of hard rock. Let’s organize the contents here. Lovedrive (4 songs) Is There Anybody There? / Coast to Coast / Always Somewhere (★) / Holiday (★) Forbidden Tattoo (5 songs) Coming Home / Big City Nights / Bad Boys Running Wild / Still Loving You / Rock You Like a Hurricane Crazy World (4 songs) Tease Me Please Me / Don’t Believe Her / Hit Between the Eyes / Wind of Change Face the Heat (4 songs) Someone to Touch / No Pain No Gain / Under the Same Sun (★) / Alien Nation Others (4 songs) Animal Magnetism: The Zoo Blackout: When the Smoke Is Going Down (★) / Blackout Others: Positive Forward (★) / Kojo no Tsuki *Note: The ★ mark indicates a collaboration with Michael Schenker. …And so it goes like this. The album will center on the three classic works from Matthias’s time, and will also feature a large number of new songs from the new album “FACE THE HEAT.” In particular, “Someone to Touch” is not only a limited edition song for this tour, but also a rare song that cannot be heard on “LIVE BITES,” and “Under the Same Sun” will be performed as an acoustic ballad featuring Michael. In addition, a variety of masterpieces, such as Michael’s instrumental “Positive Forward” and “Kojo no Tsuki,” which is unique to Japan, will overflow endlessly. The Schenker brothers, Rudolf and Michael, have performed together many times over their long careers, but are now in a state of estrangement. Only God knows whether they will ever stand side by side again. This album allows you to enjoy the chemistry of the two of them with the tunes of an acoustic tune along with the masterpieces of the SCORPIONS in their prime. A precious and beautiful live album with original recordings. An exquisite audience recording of the performance at the Aichi Welfare Pension Hall on January 26, 1994. This masterpiece was digitized from the original DAT master, and has a fresh and natural sound. Although it is undeniable that it has a somewhat distant feel, the air is clear and the core that penetrates the center reaches you powerfully. The edges of the guitar and the vocals are particularly vivid, and the twin entanglements are neatly separated without mixing. The vividness shines especially in the acoustic section in the middle where Michael Schenker appears. This live album depicts the Schenker brothers’ collaboration with beautiful sounds, such as the instrumental masterpiece “Positive Forward” and the precious “Under the Same Sun”.
