Scorpions/50th Anniversary Rare Tracks Collection

SCORPIONS is celebrating their 50th anniversary, and the deluxe edition of their classic catalog is becoming a hot topic. However, if you think that the officially reprinted tracks are all you need, you are wrong! A powerful compilation featuring all the “true rare tracks” that the official team has overlooked is now available on CD. This kind of rare track collection is good for collections but not interesting to listen to, but this work is different. There are no simple shortened edits, and there are plenty of non-album songs and outtakes. Even though it is a familiar song, it is a collection that focuses on new things, such as Michael Schenker’s first professional recording, pseudonymous singles, remixes, live performances, long versions with parts you have never heard, etc. Moreover, not only are they rare, but they are all soundboards (of course), and the quality is so superb that it can be added to the official CD as is. Now, let’s introduce each track in detail. [CD 1] 1. I’m Going Mad (Unreleased Single Version) 2. Action (Unreleased Single Version – Instrumental) Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, and Michael Schenker’s memorable first professional recording. is. It was recorded as a single in 1971 before the debut album “LONESOME CROW” but was never released.It was later included in a rare German-only compilation, but it is also difficult to obtain. “Action” is an instrumental version because the lyrics were not yet completed. 3. Fuchs Geh’ Voran (Fox On The Run) (The Hunters Single A-Side) 4. Wenn Es Richting Losgeht (Action) (The Hunters Single B-Side) The rarest “Holy Grail of the SCORPIONS Collection” This is a 7-inch single (released in 1975) under the name “THE HUNTERS”. A cover of THE SWEET that producer Dieter Dirks had the band record on a trial basis. The German lyrics and krautrock-scented synths are vivid. 5. Speedy’s Coming (Single Version – Remix/Edit 1976) 6. Surrender Love (Original Single Mix) Single track from the Uli Jon Roth era. “Speedy’s Coming” is the original single version. The 2001 remastered version and this deluxe edition were remixed versions with reverb, but this is the original. “Surrender Love” is also a remix version of the 1976 single, and the finish is different from the album take, such as the cowbell being subdued. 7. Loving You Sunday Morning (Live – Donington 16-08-1980) 8. The Zoo (Live – Donington 16-08-1980) 9. Another Piece Of Meat (Live – Donington 16-08-1980) Now a legend The first MONSTERS OF ROCK in 1980. We have reprinted three live songs that have not been released on CD. 10. China White (European Version – Alternate Guitar Solo) Rudolph’s guitar solo was different between the European and American versions of “China White.” This deluxe edition and most compilations use the US version, but this is the European version. 11. Love On The Run (Tough And Rough Mix) 12. Passion Rules The Game (Long Version) Single track from the “SAVAGE AMUSEMENT” era. “Love On The Run” is a rough mix with a rampant bass, and “Passion Rules The Game” is a long version that is 1 minute and 20 seconds longer than the album. 13. Is There Anybody There (Long Version – Re-Recorded 1989) Re-recorded version of “Is There Anybody There”. It was also included in the European version of “BEST OF ROCKERS ‘N’ BALLADS”, but this is the long version of the single only. 14. Wind Of Change (Russian/English Version) Mixed version of Russian and English. The deluxe edition of “CRAZY WORLD” also included a Russian version, but this is a rare version with two languages ​​mixed together. 15. (Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame (Us Hidden Track) 16. Rubber Fucker (Single B-Side) 17. Partners In Crime (Single B-Side) A rare track from the “FACE THE HEAT” era. “(Marie’s The Name) His Latest Flame” is a cover song of Elvis Presley and was a secret track only available on the American version. “Rubber Fucker” and “Partners In Crime” are single-only songs that are not included in the album. 18. No Pain No Gain (Remix/Edit With Die Fusball-Nationalmannschaft) 19. Under The Same Sun (Remix/Edit) Two songs remixed for the official 1994 World Cup album. “No Pain No Gain” is a big scale chorus version with the chorus of the German national soccer team added. [CD 2] 1. In Trance (Live Excl. Audience – Mexico City 23-03-1994) 2. Ave Maria No Morro (Studio Version) This is a rare track from the live album “LIVE BITES”. “In Trance” sounds like a studio re-recording, but it is a live take that is the same as the album. It’s a version that doesn’t have the audience’s cheers and is about 30 seconds longer. It was only included on the American promo CD, where it was labeled as the “Studio Version.” “Ave Maria No Morro” is a genuine studio version. This is a rare single-only track. 3. Just One You (Unreleased Pure Instinct Outtake) 4. Kiss Of Borrowed Time (Single B-Side) 5. When You Came Into My Life (New Version) 6. Stone In My Shoe (Live – El Paso 05-06- 1996) Unreleased song from the production of “PURE INSTINCT”, which was popular even in the 90’s. “Just One You” is an outtake of an unusual and dramatic ballad penned by then-bassist Ralph Lickerman. The other three songs are single tracks, and “Kiss Of Borrowed Time” is a song from the album. “When You Came Into My Life” is a rearranged version with added synths that makes it even more moving (goosebumps-worthy!). “Stone In My Shoe” is live. 7. Mind Power (Single B-Side) 8. Start Me Up (Single B-Side) 9. To Be No.1 (Long Version) 10. A Moment In A Million Years (Acoustic Version) Next up is the biggest in SCORPIONS history ‘s controversial work “EYE II EYE” era. “Mind Power” and “Start Me Up” are single coupling songs that are not included in the album. “To Be No.1” is a long version of the single that is approximately 40 seconds longer. The single is credited as “Album Version,” but in reality, “Radio Edit” was included on the album. “A Moment In A Million Years” is the version used in the promotional video. Originally, the album was acoustic with a piano, but this time we will listen carefully to the acoustic guitar and strings. 11. New Horizons (Live – Moscow 06-09-2003) An unreleased song that was performed as a new song at a live performance in Moscow on September 6, 2003, but was never released. After all, it is an extremely rare song that has only been performed once on that day. 12. Orchestra) This is an edited version without the orchestra, which was only included on the European promo CD. This is a masterpiece packed with 37 rare tracks, 159:24, to the limit of 2CDs. Even so, I’m surprised that there are no useless songs, although they are all extremely rare takes that only a limited number of enthusiasts have heard. It makes me realize how talented Rudolf & Krauss are as songwriters. Furthermore, you can experience the history of SCORPIONS by listening to it all the way from the first professional recording to the 2000s. Even though it’s all takes you hear for the first time, it’s a superb 2CD that’s as enjoyable as a historical best album.
