Description
A high-quality soundboard recording, the best setlist for a 1971 live performance, this is the number one title for early Santana. The perfection of the two songs “Incident at Neshabur” and “Conquistador Rides Again”. “You Just Don’t Care” with Greg’s rough rockish vocals, “Fried Neck Bones and Some Home Fries” with a band performance centered on Greg, and the cool funk “Waiting” with the organ at the forefront. “Gambo” has a lot of guitar going wild, and you can see that both twin guitars are in top form. “Shades Of Time” and “Savor” are also handled smoothly, and the cathartic flow thrillingly flows into “Jingo”. And the sudden start of “Perusuation” dance school carnival, the tension here is super high. “Soul Sacrifice” has spectacular percussion that is bald and crazy. The highlight is that they confidently play “Batuka” without putting it in the medley. This is the one I want to compare with Prince’s “Santana Medley”. The guitar playing of “Jungle Strut” is amazing. And the Miles Davis cover “In A Silent Way” is the song that both Jimi Hendrix and Prince felt reached their peak in guitar playing. This song is proof that Santana was devoted to jazz. You could say that this performance is history.
